How important is the Sabbath?

Jonah's miracle is that his life was restored and he never even knew he had died.

Fainting is not death if it was death he would have said so...

Sure those are miracles too

But he prayed for deliverance how did he do that dead?

Others can pray themselves out of desth?

Lots of people drown and and way back up on shore...many are eaten by fish no big deal...some wash back to shore after being partially eaten...but living in one is a good testimony...lol

There are recorded instances of fishermen in the same scenario of being in a fish and out again...but not for long...certainly not 3 days 3 nights long...that's a miracle

I have him sitting in there in that belly of a stinky fish realizing his error and need to repent....and to get the job done he was called to do...and now with a very powerful testimony...

You have him merely resurrected at some point in there and making some desperately rushed decision...and a hasty prayer

Being resurrected would be more exciting but well...he wasn't...he just fainted

Sure...notice how He didn't say "For as Jonah was DEAD three days and three nights..." He could have but He didn't...

and He wasn't actually like Jonah was anyway being above ground with a crown of thorns not seaweed around His head...oh and He was dead Jonah wasn't...

As for the time frame being as Jonah was confined...the count starts when Judas takes the money...His fate is sealed...He is confined handed over to the Gentiles...the trial by the high priest and elders...flogged finally crucified and on the third day raised...

So the sabbath was set aside, sanctified, made holy and a memorial to creation for Yah?

As if He needed a reminder...or rest...

But if you want to be where and when He is...you do as He does, His way...His universe, His house rules...you were made in His image to do as He does...

Don't make make Him a liar when He says "all nations...forever"...or Isaiah when he says "from Sabbath to Sabbath all will worship"...
