Guns!

The video goes on to show the guy taking muskrat. I had a problem with muskrat this winter - they were nesting in the cribbing of the docks in my boat house and I tried to displace them with stinky things like mothballs. That didn't work. I tried setting traps but I hadn't quite figured out what to use for bait when I had the opportunity to shoot them. This was about a month ago - the ice cover that they were diving off of for the roots and clams that they eat was about 120' from the shore line where I was shooting from. This is about the extreme range of my air rifle. But after several attempts that were failures I did manage to kill 3. This would have been much easier if I was shooting an automatic cycling air rifle, and if the air rifle I was using had a greater range. Or if my governor allowed me to shoot a real gun.

Last year eider, posturing as a weapons expert, questioned why anybody would want a semi-automatic rifle. I replied that I was happy with my semi-auto rifle in that it gave me a quick second or third or fourth shot when shooting at extreme range, often in conditions where I didn't have a real good view of my target, without having to take my eyes off the target or my rifle out of shooting position. Eider revealed his ignorance of shooting by criticizing what I was describing as being careless and irresponsible.

4:09 shows why any real gun shooter understands immediately what I was talking about. And that eider is a retard.
If I recall, I participated in that same thread. The most remarkable thing about Eider's activity there was when Chair, ex-military, dropped in and answered the scenario that Eider had posed, saying basically that he'd have simply hit the deck and started blasting.

And, "ignorant", "careless", and "irresponsible" were the words furthest from Eider's mind when responding to Chair's more-or-less expert opinion on the matter.

Consistency and rationality seem to be unfamiliar terms with eider 😁

Went back to look up that tragedy of a post.

First thing, If you're in a residential neighborhood, you never shoot high. The bullet travels 3000 ft/s and can kill at quite a distance. So, firing a "warning" or "alert" shot, especially high, is not smart. Never heard of something so silly as an "alert" shot. "Warning" shots are also silly. Only thing a "warning" shot does is tell the criminal you're not likely to shoot him which will cause him to attack you. "Warning" shots do work if used be the military sometimes - especially in naval engagements. But an "alert" shot?

Next, 100 yards can be closed awfully fast. You've got about 12 sec, 15 max. If my rifle is actually together and loaded, that's basically enough time to identify and kill the attackers before they get to me. And falling flat on the ground in a residential area? Unless you have incoming mortar fire, at best you'll take a knee. But falling flat on the ground with incoming melee combatants in a residential area with ample cover is silly.

I've been trolling squirrels and crows this afternoon! 😁
And in the meantime, we get to promote objectively good things like liberty and the absolute moral right to self defense, which secures the Second Amendment right of the people to keep and bear arms, and proves that countries like England, almost all of Europe (Czech Republic excluded, I hear), Australia and NZ, Japan and Taiwan, and of course all the terrible regimes like China, have all got it all wrong.

The absolute moral right to self defense means people have and can carry military /militia grade guns, and there are going to be shootings, yes that's part of the good, as in moral, life. Because people are going to have guns. We Americans get it. We don't all, but as a polity, we get that people have a right to guns.

Good, necessary thread.

Can you imagine 70 year old "Dr" Jill Biden doing this and splintering her osteoporosis riddled clavicle and scapula?

Now compare to an AR-15, which, in Joe's dementia addled brain, is "harder to aim, harder to use"

People laughing at Joe, the dimwittedest President of all time

An ar-15-style rifle is harder to aim and use than a double barrel shotgun says no-one who has shot both.

Leftists here should know that if do what Biden says, you'll likely get arrested. Remember, the Biden's don't have to obey the laws.

AR-16s . . .

They can have my AR16 when they pry it from my cold lifeless Cyborg generated hands from five hundred years in the future

Because neither of those things is real

(and yes, I know there was a prototype AR-16)

Huh. I wonder if the gun was loaded with alternating "soft recoil" shells, followed by slugs (those are the hardest kicking shotshells). Each ladies' second shot seemed to kick far harder, and seemed to surprise them.

If Joe only wanted Jill to fire warning shots, wouldn't it have made more sense to put blanks in the gun?

I would suggest that the new Secret Service and Washington DC Police and FBI protocols should now be that their guns only be loaded with blanks and that they only be instructed to fire warning shots.
