[h=2]Learning the World's Wisdom[/h]"The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain." - 1 Cor 3:20MINISTRY UPDATE[/h]
April 22nd, 2017
God knew the thoughts of the philosophers and wise men of the world before they had them.
God gave Solomon more wisdom and wealth than any other. Solomon spent half his life searching for "what profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?" (Ecc 1:3)
What did he find? ... The same thing God already knew.
"Behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit." - Ecc 1:14
Solomon lived before the greatest historical philosophers man has ever known, but he already knew the end of their thoughts.
If you are looking for worldly experience and thoughts from the wise about life under the sun, without all the bad consequences and wasted time of doing it yourself, then learn from Solomon's observations in Ecclesiastes as an old man who has been there and done that.
If you are looking for truth and what is profitable to man in this life and the next, then learn from the words of the Lord Jesus Christ recorded by the apostle Paul:
"In [Christ] are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." - Col 2:3
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable..." - 2 Tim 3:16
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." - Col 2:8
"...forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." - 1 Cor 15:58
What Paul knew was revealed by Christ from heaven. It was a mystery kept secret from Solomon and every philosopher today looking only under the sun.
For Truth,
Justin "not in vain" Johnson
