Imagine you had a next door neighbor who kept ripping you off at night. Finally you went next door and you had it out with the thief. Username would call that damaging relationships with a neighbor. Normal people would call it confronting a thief and letting him know that you're not going to put up with it anymore.
Trump confronted crappy allies and let them know we were not going to put up with them ripping us off anymore.
