We had some sort of boating tournament up here a few weeks ago (country town). One of the speedboats lost control and slammed into the river bank and burst into flames...1 guy died and the other badly burned.

we don't have races, per se, but we get way too many offshore cigarette style boats

The river is a big one, so lots of activity. Lots of people have died though...

i'm on the st lawrence, which drains the Great Lakes and is a major shipping route - very busy

More leisure...houseboats, skiers etc

I was more of a Mr Rogers era kid. I think Captain Kangaroo started quite a bit before he did, although they were on tv at the same time....I think we didn't get that channel.
