ECT God's Grace, is it really unmerited?

Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

So much for the radical reform mis-interpretation of Romans 3:10 (KJV).

Interesting and in light of Rom. 3:10 KJV, we later find Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, as yet an unredeemed disciple of Jesus, burying His body.. In this we can safely assume the Nicodemus was, as well.

But many, in that day, will be judged by their works [deeds] to determine what they were based upon, will they not? In this, the righteous will scarcely be saved. (1Peter 4:18 KJV) For understanding this, I like my interpretation of Eph 1:1 KJV, "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to [those learning how to be ] faithful in Christ Jesus"
. . :)

Yes! And our part?

Can one have such faith having never heard the gospel?

Question: What is the gospel purposed for if not to expose the god of our life and make a discussion about them??

Absolutely! And all this in the afterwards of our salvation.

To clarify a few terms. The Gospel is the event of Christ that justifies us from our sins. The gift of justification does cause us to purify ourselves in honor of what Christ did. It does cause us to knock down the gods of our lives, like finding out from Col 3 that greed is idolatry. But back to the purpose of the Gospel event: it was to please God--and Christ did--so as to provide justification from our sins (from its debt). That is a different thing from our personal transformation which follows.

What is the one thing for which we cannot earn His favor that our thinking about it being unmerited, would be accurate?

. . . but other than that, what? Merited or no?

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
Titus 3:5

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
Psalm 115:1

O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
Daniel 9:18

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
Luke 18:13

1. The righteous were always justified by faith as far back as Adam. Why do you believe it is a gift?

2. Sin is never justified but righteousness. Again, so much for Romans 3:10 as interpreted by the reform religionist.

3. We purify ourselves because of Who God is, our devotion to Him. Any purification of our souls is the result of our love TO Him and that by the living in union with indwelling life of Jesus Christ.. It is that union Jesus prayed for in John 17:22 KJV.

It does cause us to knock down the gods of our lives, like finding out from Col 3 that greed is idolatry.

Greed? How 'bout anything that exalts itself as an opposing god in our lives?

But back to the purpose of the Gospel event: it was to please God--and Christ did--so as to provide justification from our sins (from its debt). That is a different thing from our personal transformation which follows.

Again, Jesus didn't provide justification but reconciliation and peace with God for those already justified by righteousness. Re-read Rom 5:1 KJV.

In a word, it is "redemption" that we had NOTHING to do with. Salvation, as it relates to "Redemption", means that God, by Jesus Christ, has put mankind back into proper order with Himself. Believing for that and functioning in our lives, living them out from that perspective is salvation as intended by God.

Lets just take this part:

"What is the one thing for which we cannot earn His favor that our thinking about it being unmerited, would be accurate?"

The one thing meaning the one thing we could not do for ourselves irrespective of our relationship with Him? Clue: We don't even have to ask for it?
