Fiona Hill: "The president was trying to stage a coup"

“The president was trying to stage a coup. There was little chance of it happening, but there was enough chance that the former defense secretaries had to put out that letter, which was the final nail through that effort. They prevented the military from being involved in any coup attempt. But instead, Trump tried to incite it himself,” said Fiona Hill, Trump’s former top Russia adviser. “This could have turned into a full-blown coup had he had any of those key institutions following him. Just because it failed or didn’t succeed doesn’t mean it wasn’t real.”

Trump Officials Rush to Keep Him From Sparking Another Conflict—at Home or Abroad

High-ranking national-security officials have spent the last 24 hours scrambling to figure out how to keep their commander-in-chief, Donald Trump, from inciting further violence at home, spilling national secrets, or sparking last-minute confrontations with international foes.

The concerns in the upper echelons of the administration’s national-security community range from fears inside the Pentagon that the president will do or say something that effectively throws the U.S. into a military confrontation with another country to anxieties in the intelligence apparatus that Trump will divulge classified intelligence on his way out, according to four officials who spoke with The Daily Beast about the matter. All requested to remain anonymous in order to speak more openly about the discussions.

“This isn’t a hypothetical anymore,” said one senior administration official. “This is real. What happened yesterday changed the calculus. People are concerned about [the president’s] state of mind.”

Much more at the link.

“Yesterday was the worst day for the Republican Party since Lincoln’s assassination.”
— Joe Grogan, Trump’s former top domestic policy adviser
Fiona Hill - the new Ethel Rosenberg democrat socialist-communist spy in the Trump administration. How is it that Hill did not know HunterBiden had been under investigation for his dealings with the Ukrainian mob boss for four years before Schiff and Vindmann invented the fake quid-pro-quo allegation against Trump? Hill was either stupid or lying.

Photo emerges of Republican barricading chamber doors during US Capitol attack after he compared rioters to ‘tourists’

A photo has emerged of Andrew Clyde, the Republican congressman who claimed “there was no insurrection” and compared US Capitol rioters to “tourists”, barricading the House chamber during the attack.

UNITED STATES - JANUARY 6: Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., second from top left, helps barricade the House chamber door as rioters disrupt the joint session of Congress to certify the Electoral College vote on January 6, 2021.
That is what you do when an assorted mob of right and left partisans get rowdy - you bolt the door.

Oh, so you admit that at least some of the crowd were 'right wing partisans'? That's a concession for you. Also, if there was no insurrection as he claimed then why is he among others barricading the door?
I admit there was uncalled-for violence from those on the left as well as those on the right. I do not agree with seditious democrat lies claiming Trump caused a near insurrection. If anyone caused a near insurrection it was the crooked democrats who committed massive voter fraud and then slandered tens of millions of patriotic Americans for calling them out on it.

There was no such thing as massive voter fraud as the more sensible and realistic in the Republican party are acknowledging. Just baseless allegations that have come to nought. No American, "patriotic" or otherwise has been "slandered" in any way.

IF this were truly about voter fraud, then all of the senate and congressional races would be under a microscope.

None, just counties (with a majority of black voters) are being recounted for the umpteenth time.

Interesting take from the 'QAnon Shaman's' lawyer, Albert Watkins:

Watkins... said his client had Asperger’s syndrome and indicated that Chansley’s mental state — and the impact of Trump’s “propaganda” efforts — would play a role in his case.
“A lot of these defendants — and I’m going to use this colloquial term, perhaps disrespectfully — but they’re all [redacted] short-bus people,” Watkins told TPM. “These are people with brain damage, they’re [redacted] retarded, they’re on the [redacted] spectrum.”
“But they’re our brothers, our sisters, our neighbors, our coworkers — they’re part of our country. These aren’t bad people, they don’t have prior criminal history. [Redacted], they were subjected to four-plus years of [redacted] propaganda the likes of which the world has not seen since [redacted] Hitler.”
Regarding the Trump/Fox propaganda, he's not wrong.

You keep repeating the damnable democrat lie "There was no voter fraud," yet neither you nor anyone else has proven your claim to be true.

Democrat cultist: "I refuse to believe democrats who support rioting, looting, cop-killing, and violence in the streets would ever commit voter fraud and I totally condemn any real efforts to determine whether voter fraud was committed or not."

Maybe this quack was the protected 'whistleblower' Schiff kept hidden in his basement? If so, there is no wonder he rises again from the darkened recesses of the democrat underworld to falsely accuse Trump to the delight of democrat demons out to destroy Trump for supporting Christian values and influence in America.

The burden of proof was on those alleging fraud to prove it and...oh, they couldn't, because there wasn't any. So, it's not a lie at all. Ample opportunity and time has passed for any such evidence to be presented.

Which reminds me, the burden of proof is still on the democrats spewing forth the tinfoil hat conspiracy theory that Donald Trump is actually a secret Russian agent. Still waiting and waiting. Remember when Adam Schiff kept saying, "We have proof"? Was he telling the truth or was he lying?

THE TRUMP COUP

This Week in Republican Insurrection Erasure

In the week following Liz Cheney’s purge for the crime of speaking honestly about the former president’s unprecedented, if buffoonish, attempt to overthrow the election and stay in power against the will of the people, Republicans have taken out their neuralyzer and moved deliberately and unapologetically down the path of January 6 erasure.

*A witness to the president’s support for a domestic terror assault on the Capitol refuses to testify.
*A congressman tries to retcon his support for overturning the election on national TV.
*A Republican campaign committee rewards the members who tried to “Stop The Steal.”
*A senator who spearheaded the legislative coup is given massive platforms to promote his book about being silenced.

For the GOP, memory-holing the insurrection is the point.

No. That's your completely baseless assertion.

No court has looked at the evidence. There are thousands of sworn, notarized affidavits, video, databases deleted, and reams of captured network traffic going to the computer controlled counting machines that were, by law, supposed to be air-gapped to any and all networks. Plus, it's been demonstrated that the machines can be easily manipulated long after election night, and the manipulated data then back dated, which should not be possible.

Your assertion that no American has been slandered over this is one of the dumbest, most ignorant, things I've ever seen you post.

Is there still a sting operation that's yet to come to light with watermarked ballot papers as well as I seem to recall you once positing some months back?

Otherwise, nope, just the same ole same ole denial and frankly, if you consider something that I post 'dumb and ignorant' then that works for me.

Oh, as I seem to recall answering before, I doubt Russia would even have him.
