President Trump was invited to England recently. However, England's government (The Labor party and the Conservatives) are arguing back and forth about, Trump's worthiness to have a "State visit." The Conservative party, for the most part, thinks he is, whereas, the Labor party believes he's not. Some are calling Trump a Mysoginist, and a racist. The English are divided over Trump, just like the U.S.

By treating our President this way, they're, in essence, treating our Nation with disrespect, as well. Personally, I believe Trump ought to refuse the invitation from this bunch of ingrates. If it wasn't for our help in WW2 the Nazis would have destroyed England. They are part of NATO and have been since 1949. We still are in a position of having to protect England. Whoever our Nations leader is, it shouldn't matter. Trump is representing our country and is deserving of England's respect and honor.

Nah, they're just treating the guy himself with disrespect and your usual crap over WWII is noted and discarded. If it wasn't for the combined allied forces then the USA wouldn't have won the second world war on its own no matter how many stars and stripes you might have adorning your abode...

WW2 started in the fall of 1939 - America didn't enter the war until the end of 1941.

If America had entered the war to protect Great Britain, it would have been there in 1940 for the Battle of Britain - after the Germans overran almost all of Europe.

America didn't enter WW2 by choice - she was forced in after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, followed by Hitler's declaration of war on the US a few days later.

It was in America's best interests not to wait until the enemy arrived on her shores - the purpose of D-Day wasn't just to defeat the Germans, it was to stop Stalin's armies from overrunning all of Europe!

As for Donald Trump, although he attended a military college, he managed to obtain a physical deferment so he never served in Vietnam.

This is a joke of a thread anyway. Are you telling me that if Hilary Clinton had won this election you'd be saying she was worthy of "respect and honour" for being your country's president GM? Hmm, highly doubt that. No person is worthy of that until they fulfill a role that invites it both domestic and abroad.

Don't let the facts derail stuff dude, you should know better than that by now...

England was nearly destroyed by the "Wehrmacht military forces." The English were sitting ducks and still are if not for the U.S.A.

Do you even bother to watch your Officials on the Telly, over there? The "Labor party" in England are the equivalent of our (USA) Liberal Democratic Party and just as ludicrous.

Not interested in your revisionist history GM. I'm not the one asinine enough to think that a country's leader deserves honour and respect simply for being in a position of power, either from its own citizens or those elsewhere. Trump deserves neither, and your opinions on the second world war don't deserve any either.

Dude, the whole gamut of politics over here is ludicrous for the most part. There's no 'respect' or 'honour' for whoever gets into power over here and by and large all parties are met with cynicism. Trump is regarded as an unfunny joke and there's a lot to suggest that his popularity has plummeted even within America so don't go bleating that other countries should treat the guy with respect. Darn sure you'd be singing a different tune if Clinton won the presidency...

England would be that country who wouldn't allow someone in because they think they are 'sexist' :rotfl:

Get over yourself, UK.

It's funny that they have no problem at all letting in actual sexist people though, by the thousands
I guess they're still better than us evil white conservative Christians.

Quite the contrary, Trump's popularity, is you call it, was at 53% the day before yesterday. Not bad for a President that's been in office only a month. Your Nigel Evans (Conservative Party) is a logical/reasonable Statesman. Are you some sort of Anarchist in Merry old England?
