Les Miles is fired.

Had Pitt not beat #2 WVU that crazy night in Morgantown, Miles and LSU never win the 2007 championship. It was basically handed to them.

I'm sure you remember Oklahoma beating #1 Mizzou the same day, but WVU was a 28 point favorite against Pitt, and Pitt won.

That was Dave Wannstedt's biggest win ever, and was LeSean McCoy's coming out party.

BTW, Oklahoma beat Mizzou twice that year, but WVU destroyed Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

Wisconsin. I'm not convinced. This is why. ND is not prepared as a team, and the big win by Michigan State doesn't mean anything. However, if Wisconsin gets it done against Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa and Nebraska in consecutive weeks, then I will believe.

Louisville and Clemson currently have my attention. That isn't something I was thinking at the start of the season.

The short version is that Florida State, Alabama, and Ohio State are the most talented teams again. Clemson is barely a notch away. FSU has a QB problem in that Sean Maguire has a foot injury.

FSU was scratched last week when they lost by 40. Now I wonder if Fisher has an internal problem.

Bama did about what I expected...the real story was The University of South Alabama Jaguars, aka the little college that could, beating 19th ranked San Diego State. So they've knocked off an SEC team and now this... Go Jags!

And, as always, Roll Tide. :)

And on the important news of the day: Alabama @ Arkansas

Three uncharacteristic turnovers on our part, but the defense kept its character. I was amused by Arkansas coach Bielema's remarks after the game.

"I'm disappointed for the fans to not get them a win today," Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said. "I thought there was enough things out there the No. 1 team in the country, but we spotted them two to three touchdowns. ... It's just too much to give up to the No. 1 team in the country."

His guys didn't spot us, we gave his crew three extra chances and they still couldn't get it done.

Arkansas has some talent, but their offensive line is a mess...and our offense is improving, but it's still not near its stride, especially the line play. And that should scare the pants off of any coach thinking about playing us.

Meanwhile, Saban is one victory away from tying his previous longest winning streak.

Roll Tide. :)

FSU-Miami was actually good. What is strange is Miami was quietly undefeated with NFL talent, Jimbo Fisher has having an uncharacteristic bad year with NFL talent. Mark Richt arguably has brought some attitude back to Miami. Well played, Georgia. Be careful what you wish for. Ask Tennessee and Phillip Fulmer.

Indiana is better than Oklahoma, but not because of personnel.

I would have said take Alabama straight up, but the points with Arkansas. Based on the last few years. Would have. Good thing I don't bet on kids.

Stanford was humiliated for the second week in a row.

Ole Miss is still way over rated.

Washington will win the PAC 12 and go undefeated, unless they beat themselves.

Charlie Strong is so fired. But who can Texas hire other than taking a chance on young coach?

SEC Projections this week

Missouri @ Florida

Vegas says Florida -13.5 Florida wins but doesn't cover.

Southern Miss @ LSU

Vegas says LSU -24.5 LSU doesn't cover and I say even loses this game.

Mississippi @ Arkansas

Vegas says Mississippi by 8. I agree, Mississippi covers.

Vanderbilt @ Georgia

Vegas says Georgia -15. Georgia in for a shocker. Vandy with the upset by 7.

Miss. St. @ BYU

Vegas says BYU -7. Mississippi St wins this game.

Now the game of the week....

Alabama @ Tennessee

Vegas says Alabama -13

Alabama covers this easily......

Les Miles perhaps. Maybe Bobby Petrino will leave if Texas wants to give out alot of cash?

And Tom Herman will be using Notre Dame and Texas against each other to get his own raise and to get Houston into the Big 12.

Tennessee is worse than I thought, and I don't think much of them. He has had decent classes, but poor player development.

Keep in mind they had a lot of their seasoned players on the bench injured. I don't think it would have been a difference maker and Alabama did their best to keep the game a game in the first half, but they were a little hobbled.

Roll Tide! :D

to get Houston into the Big 12.

The Big 12 has decided to stay with 10 teams.

In a related story....the Big 10 has 14 teams.

It was just a few years ago when the Big 10 had 12 teams, and the Big 12 had 10 teams.

At least the Pac 10 changed its name to the Pac 12.

Higher education at its finest.

It's a shame they can't put together a Big 40 conference. The beer ad sells alone would make it worth their while.

Notre Dame had a big time recruit back out. He is still open to the Domers, but is considering others now that he knows how bad they stink. Pat Narduzzi needs to reel him in. And it isn't like I am telling him something he doesn't know.

Wisconsin looks pretty solid. They are well coached. And they sit at #10 with 2 very close losses to top 5 teams. I think they can beat Nebraska, and so will Ohio State, which puts them in Indianapolis for a rematch with the winner of Michigan-Ohio State.

Nobody stands a chance against Alabama in the SEC.

Washington will be number 3 in the playoff.

And the 4th will be whomever lasts the longest in the ACC, excluding a 2 loss champion.
