I think that'd mean a person annoyed Chrysostom almost to the extent that whoever wins the Sophist of the Year Award has annoyed him. And that's a lot. It'd be a real accomplishment.

Right now, I have a few of them; I do freelance work, and usually juggle a few things at the same time. Sometimes I don't have a job, though. If you'd asked me a few months ago I'd have said no. But you might not have asked if that was by choice, and I'd have said yes it was by choice. At some points, I'd have said no, it wasn't by choice. And so on. Freelancing can be like that. Anyway.

Easy answer. You decided for whatever weird reason months ago to disrespect my decision to delete a thread. You decided to criticize my decision and not only that you decided to impugn my character. Then you began sending me neg reps to reinforce your dislike. In short you became an antagonist. Then I began skipping over your posts and simply not responding. You didn't seem to like that because you tried your best to provoke me into responding. This was not once in a while. You made it a constant daily activity. Almost like stalking. Recently I decided to give you some attention since you seemed to need it. Now tell me again what you don't understand.

I had a wonderful and greatly varied job experience until I decided to retire. Now I have the luxury of spending hours on the web when I am not shopping, visiting friends or doing other things. I usually keep around 8 tabs open at once and enjoy the news sites, some feeds I subscribe to, TOL and a few other sites. I get curious when other people who are not retired spend most of a day hanging out on a web site. I have also raised 2 children. When they were young it would have been quite impossible for me to hang out on the web. They had far too much energy and too many needs to have permitted that.
So, I am naturally curious. If that is weird to you I can't account for your judgment. But back to basics. For whatever your personal reasons you decided to target me. Therefore it should not shock you when I return the favor regardless of the specifics.

Eeset, I'll say this to you very straightforwardly: You don't want to "return the favor." Put me on ignore, and keep me on ignore. You'll be better off for it.
What's happening is that you used to have sod, and now you don't. You're now alone in the wake of the nastiness that you guys created together. Sod's not here to spearhead it for you anymore. It'll take a while for the poison to dissipate, and hopefully he'll be gone long enough for that to happen, but in the meantime, I don't recommend that you try to continue as you did before; you'll become frustrated and TOL will become a very bad place for you. Let it all go.
I've been telling you for about a year now: just let it go. Perfect opportunity.
Let what go? I hate to spoil your delusions but I was never Res's sidekick. He and I shared one or two common outlooks but differed on many things. He just happened to come along last December with lots of energy for simple banter. There were literally thousands of his posts that I did not respond to or chime in on.
But forget Res. Do you understand that after 6 months of relentless attack I changed my mind about using neg reps and reporting? Do you also comprehend that the earlier post I had made about not using them was then deleted because it was no longer my approach to this site? Did you think I would appreciate you dredging it back up, copying and pasting it into a new post that you created for the sole purpose of trying to paint me as a hypocrite? Please tell me you did that as some kind of wonderful gesture. Perhaps I misunderstood your love.

Town I don't think I ever deleted a thread until 2013. I certainly couldn't until I became a life member and even after that it was months before I discovered that I could.
When I decided to abandon the no negs and no reports I created a thread about that decision. I'll find it for you.
It doesn't surprise me that you would jump in to defend zoo. Pro bono too.

I understood that you changed your mind. Your thread was deleted for more complicated and sneaky reasons than that. You know it, I know it, and most people here know it.
I'm not going to get into a conversation about it with you pretending otherwise. Don't bother playing the innocent ditz.

Anyway, for the most part, yes, I was and have been looking to call you out as a hypocrite. You say paint, I say expose... Tomato, tomatoe. My purpose in this has essentially been to paint/expose you as a hypocrite. It's of course a bit more complicated than that, there's more involved, like I think you're extraordinarily condescending and I wanted to call you out on that too, and I think you're extraordinarily disingenuous, and I wanted to call you out on that, and I wanted to call you out on being a sneak, a few other things, but yeah, basically calling you out on being a hypocrite.
But there's a whole other way of looking at it that you might consider, Eeset, because it's really why this is happening:
When you deleted that "Things I'll never do" thread, I had just posted in it. I had bumped it. You saw me bump the thread, and you deleted it. Instead of giving an honest response, you "responded" by deleting all traces of my post, and the thread. Think about this: You could have explained the whole thing right there ... You could have say, laughed and said "Eek, I sure changed my mind on that one, sorry about being such a condescending jerk, everyone, I'll think twice before I make some holier-than-thou declaration like that again! ..." But instead, you erased it. But that's it's own sort of response... You chose to take the conversation into a whole other dimension. Instead of taking responsibility, you pretended it didn't happen. I hate when people do that. So I've found my own way to work with it. You may not have understood that I'm fine working in other dimensions.
I'm suggesting again: I really recommend that you put me on ignore and leave me there. It will be better for you. Let it go.
But zoo, that would be cruel and unusual punishment. You thrive on attention. When I ignore you then you post repeated taunts just hoping for a response. Can you let go of that?
And gosh if you think I am condescending I hardly know how to respond. Silly boy, you must have low self esteem. Try Walmart, they might be having a sale.

So Chrysostom, we were wondering over in the Blob thread (Blobber's Central), whether a blob floats, and I said I float, but we're not sure if that means a blob floats. When I won the Chrysostom TOL Blob Award for 2013 (thanks again), does it mean I AM a blob, or I'm like a blob, or that I blob things up, or what? Can you clear this up?

I feel as though a blob is an intractible thing, an entity which is somewhat difficult to define, you think you have solved it and made it to disappear and lo it resurfaces sometimes in a completely different [yet recognisable] form, a bit like Koban/sod/res ...there it is, perhaps it is best left till tomorrow to deal with. Again if it could be broken up into more easily handled portions...certainly it won't be reasoned away nor will good wishes alone disperse it
