If you got a neg rep for that I'd say it was deserved, because you could only have said what you did to taunt him and you used his son to do it. I think that's despicable.

Anna I thought the hat was goofy. It hid his beautiful hair. You obviously read something bad into a sincere comment. No, Town did not send me a neg rep for that. Your reaction focuses on a practical reality. When I make a comment or you make a comment we (all of us) read it through a set of filters. How we do that is often in error. I am as guilty as the next. For example, when Town parses someone's post into tiny pieces and comments on the snippets I often see it as an attempt to deprecate when he may be trying to be humorous.

I offered to unconditionally bury the animosity and all he had to do was say yes. Instead he came back with conditions. I am going to try my best to turn our relationship in a new and positive direction but not at the expense of being silent. I will value your input as things unfold.

No, but I stopped to look. It's easy. All you have to do is click on the username and it's one of the scroll down options, keeps track of the last hundred posts by 25. Doesn't take any time at all.

No, I've neg rep'd people of similar and even greater rep power. You just say anything you want to be the truth and hope it sticks, don't you. And most of the whales (long term posters) have already worked out our differences. So it doesn't happen often.

The comment is about the pictures and not the subject, so no. On the other hand, you're only posting the comment for the same reason you've made any of them...it's a quandary.
