Then why did he ask God why he had forsaken him?
Why does the only prayer he taught begin "Our Father who are in Heaven" when He was here?

jesus had both a human and divine nature. on the cross he in his humanity experienced the father's curse as he turned his face from him. he was forsaken in that way.

its tough for me to say what his exact purpose was but given that the cross represents a tremendous act of grace and love it makes sense that he would do it publicly.

this is a little confusing. i believe god is in control over his creation, but not like we are robots. i think the bible is clear that god knows the beginning from the end and clearly knows everything, so in that sense wouldnt everything be set? i do believe people can choose what they want. not sure where that puts me with what you said
