... such as: a man running in front of a speeding truck to commit suicide (it happened to one of my customers and he was jailed, license suspended and it took almost eight months to get cleared of all charges, even though the man who committed suicide had been treated for mental illness and had several suicide attempts.
... such as someone reacting in a fight situation with a criminal and accidentally killing or otherwise wounding them. Placing someone at risk of a long-term prison sentence without taking all facts into consideration simply shouldn't happen.
Personally, I believe that one's right to privacy should be thrown out the window when they have committed a crime. The court system shouldn't discard evidence found in a search simply because the search warrant didn't include the evidence that was recovered.
Interesting things to think about. I hadn't thought about these things to this level. I guess I am unfamiliar with the law concerning search warrants. Are you saying a crime must have already been communicated by a person in order for their home to be searched for example?
A struggle or fight where someone gets injured who meant to injure is also difficult, because it means that likely someone else has injured them which is not supposed to happen in a perfect world (who says what a perfect world is anyways?).
Also, amazing story that he was finally cleared!
