Anyway Musterion, please apply some maturity to this idea of yours - many in America would have limited baths - hang their clothes up to wear for about a week, all drink from the same water bucket in some cool corner, some even had to go get their water - haul it on a sled like thing from their water source so they could bathe (like on Saturday) or have a wash day.

I was going to be witty but my head is broken. And I was going to say something else..oh well
Oh yes! I can understand why the military would want to train all their soldiers to clean daily!

ps those may have been the dresses that were worn about four days or a week...the men's shirts may have been changed every day, except for Sunday clothes and suits they could go much longer before washed in a big pot hung up starched and ironed?

I used scare-quotes because:

1. There really is no such thing as race. No one is purely anything and though it exists in our perception that is because we are happy to settle for a very simplistic understanding of human genetics.

2. There is little agreement overall on what exactly constitutes whiteness or how much of that it takes in order to be indisputably white. I can only hope Chrysostom never starts an "are you white?" thread and faults those who can't offer a definite yes or no for their inability to answer such a "simple" question.
