PPP's newest Iowa poll finds Donald Trump leading the Republican field in the state even after a weekend of controversy. He's at 19% to 12% for Ben Carson and Scott Walker, 11% for Jeb Bush, 10% for Carly Fiorina, 9% for Ted Cruz, and 6% for Mike Huckabee and Marco Rubio.
The other 9 candidates are all clustered between 3% and having no support at all (George Pataki)- John Kasich and Rand Paul are at 3%, Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum at 2%, Chris Christie at 1%, and Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham, and Pataki all have less than 1%.

One who would rather see the other side fail, as they would be inclined to think the outcome and then open their position as the eventual go-to. That was the whole strategy of the Republican leadership going into the President's second term. It wasn't about governing, but about making Obama a failure to enhance their position at the polls in the next election cycle.
So if you have a candidate you don't consider an adequate representative of your philosophy the worst thing you can do for your party is put him or her in the office where their weak sister failures will accrue to you. Rather, let the other guy fall down and then go for the "change/retake/morning in America" positivism that can and has propelled a few dark horses into the White House.
Anyway, that's another way to see it.

The Reagan, Bush Sr, and Bush Jr. Administrations had 20 years to reverse Roe v Wade - some of them with Republican majorities in the House , the Senate and a conservature dominated Supreme Court.
While they were sitting on their hands concerning abortion, these administrations did manage to make the 400 sponsors who bankroll the Republican Party much wealthier
This massive shift in wealth from the middle and blue-collar classes to the 1% started during the Reagan Administration (tax cuts, trickle down economics, free trade) and had an impact on the abortion rate.
Lack of job security, high unemployment rates, the rapid decline in the manufacturing sector, student debt, loss of health benefits, foreclosures, personal bankruptcies, the real-estate market collapse and a general decline in one's standard of living are all contributing factors to an increased abortion rate.
ProLife supporters are nothing more that pawns who have given their loyalty to a political party whose policies have actually increased America's abortion rate!

They aren't. They are just using the republican rhetoric to stir up their troops, just as the republicans use democrat rhetoric to stir up theirs.

The Post cites “four Trump allies and one Clinton associate” who said that, in the call, Clinton encouraged the billionaire real estate developer to take on a more active role within the GOP.
Suffice it to say, Trump took Clinton’s advice, though The Post reports that a Clinton aide said the 2016 campaign was not discussed.
