The Republicans were in on it, of course. They wanted Trump out of the White House just as bad as the Democrats, and anyone who doesn't believe me need only listen to the private conversations they were having about Trump. Publically, they were supporting him, but privately, they were conspiring against him. Trump knew this, which is why he planned to leave the Republican Party and start his own third party when he left office. Trump couldn't follow through on that threat, however, because the Republican Party (specifically Ronna McDaniel) threatened to stick him with the bill for tens of millions of dollars in lawyer fees and other court costs if he did. So the Republicans participated in the coup against him and then prevented him from bolting out of the GOP using a fortune in court fees as leverage. Facts.
