Can a Christian lose their salvation

I couldn't find that quote when I went back and looked at my post ? We don't need glorified bodies to live without sinning. We just need a real repentance from sin and to be reborn of God's seed. My rebirth necessitated the destruction of the old me, including its nature. No, "IN God". "But...

Can a Christian lose their salvation

Our "observations" differ. BTW, the struggles against sin, from Rom 7, were Paul's narrative of his former life while still in the flesh, and failing to uphold the Law of Moses. I could give the same narrative as Paul, only I'ld use the catholic's teachings instead of the Law of Moses.

Can a Christian lose their salvation

You've lost sight of the context of my quote. Let's move on. Agreed. Isn't it written that He called "us" gods ? I know Jesus mentioned that somewhere... When the Word took on flesh, He lost the "God" part of His former self. He had all the foibles we struggle with today. He had no "special...

Can a Christian lose their salvation

Can you not make the connection between Jesus' "fig trees not bearing grapes and grape vines not bearing figs" with "God's seed not bring forth the fruit of the devil" ? The seed dictates what kind of fruit something can bear. Those reborn of God's seed cannot be liars, thieves, adulterers, or...

Should We Have Women Pastors Today ?

ok doser is NOT a woman ? Isn't it funny how a single picture can warp an impression.

Should We Have Women Pastors Today ?

I'm surprised you didn't include 2 Tim 2:12..."But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

Can a Christian lose their salvation

Our opinions differ. I suppose you believe apple seeds can bring forth peaches ? Why do you think God's seed will produce liars, thieve, and adulterers ?

Can a Christian lose their salvation

"What he cited" in Rom 3 was written many years before Jesus was born of a woman. Paul was illustrating to the Jews that even though they had the Law, they still needed the Savior. Having the Law meant nothing. The Jews were as bad off as the Gentiles. Agreed. The Jews also needed the Redeemer...

Can a Christian lose their salvation

You had three opinions in your last post to me. I have never been a part of a Pentecostal group What I have learned is from the bible. Were that true, then 2 Cor 5:17 is not true. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are...

"God provided the means of our conversion and salvation."

Can a Christian lose their salvation

Paul wrote..."Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." (Rom 6:6) Also..."And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Gal 5:24) I "died" with Christ. I was also...

Can a Christian lose their salvation

The proof is in the words. What Paul cited in his condemnation of the Law keeping Jews was written long before Jesus walked the earth. Jesus was hampered by everything we are facing today. Plus, He was tortured and killed, and still didn't sin. As the Gentiles have been made one with the...

Can a Christian lose their salvation

One. Grace is the gift. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" (Eph 2:8) Paul only wrote against the works of the Law. By effectually "outlawing" the right to choose to believe, you do a grave disservice to Christ Jesus. If one is reborn...

Can a Christian lose their salvation

It's weird that you don't think the "body of Christ" IS Christ .

Can a Christian lose their salvation

How many Christians did Paul cause to die ? How many babies did Herod or Pharaoh cause to die ? As neither of us have any real data, the point is moot. Paul was the worst of the sinners Jesus died for, because he persecuted the church. Though technically Jesus died for Herod too, Herod didn't...

Can a Christian lose their salvation

As I wrote before, "God provided the means of our conversion and salvation." He provided it, but we must take up and use it for it to be of any benefit.

Can a Christian lose their salvation

God offers us the ability to have faith, and the ability to turn permanently from sin.

Can a Christian lose their salvation

I can understand your confusion, seeing as you believe the converted still commit sin. The Corinthian may have appeared as though he was converted, but his actions betrayed him. Those reborn of God's seed cannot bear the devil's fruit. It is written..."Whosoever is born of God doth not commit...

Can a Christian lose their salvation

Exactly, as appearances are sometimes false. Appearances are not really trustworthy indicators of a man's condition, religiously speaking. Only his actions will manifest the truth of one's conversion.

Can a Christian lose their salvation

It all comes down to the same thing. God provided the means of our conversion and salvation. It is now, but wasn't before the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
