There is biblical justification for the death penalty. Dan Savage is indirectly responsible for leading many young people to a lifestyle that without a doubt has brought them death by AIDS, drug overdose or suicide.
To my knowledge you didn't cause the death of another human being, therefore you would not be guilty of a capital crime.
Regarding knowing the Lord and being executed: Many a death row inmate has repented. Even if they haven't, that doesn't mean that justice shouldn't be served. Again, I'm talking about capital crimes where it can be proven where someone is responsible for the death of another. Dan Savage fits into that category.
