  • Thanks, Cedarbay... It's a deal! Making fun with the MADers may help, I don't know... They are a lot of fun to smack around... But it is so easy! :)
Thanks for accepting my friendship request. I think you a hoot and a very smart Christian man. I appreciate your humor in light of the heavy abuse. Let us pray for one another. God bless you. CB
Praise God! I hope and have prayed that you are well. It is good for me to see your name as having visited.

    God Bless you!~
Oh yes! Always give thanks at the end, Hallelujah!

Thank you for explaining to me. :)
Well, for instance - I have a friend, you see... Let's pretend that her name is Nancy... Here is what it would sound like:

Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy on Nancy...
Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy on Nancy...
Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy on Nancy...
Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy on Nancy...

    O Lord Jesus Christ...
    Son of God...
    Have Mercy on my friend...
    Nancy...

This (These) petition(s) is/are done making the Sign of the Cross during each triplet and at the final Nancy...

And in the inner stillness of prayer's attentiveness...

Adding a "Thank-you Lord." at the end never hurts...
"The biggest thing though is to pray for the person more than for their pimples... God knows if the pimples need removal..."

    Amen!

As for the rest, we do pretty much the same thing... except I know nothing of the set of 12 petitions.

But, what you said above about the pimples... I sometimes find myself wanting to go in that direction and it never feels comfortable. Sooo, I then just ask for their soul to be saved. Adding the have mercy on them is good. I'll adopt that.

    Thank you, my dear friend.
If a person is sick, we pray for their recovery... If they are journeying, we pray for their safe journey... For Isis kidnapped Metropolitan Paul, we pray for his speedy and safe return... But most of the time, when I pray for anyone, and especially when I pray for you, I just pray "Lord have Mercy on her..." And if the need is great, I can easily pray a set of 12 such petitions, followed by a final one... God knows what you have need of, so it is not really all that up to me to ask for anything other than His Mercy for you, or for anyone... But there are other prayers, according to need, that can involve tears and discomfort and sleeplessness and all manner of things according to what is needed...

The biggest thing though is to pray for the person more than for their pimples... God knows if the pimples need removal...

Hello my brother. I have a question for you. When you pray for others is what is said always to save their soul? Or, what?
    Very cool to know! :)

(We just got home and it is 12:28am :) --- another awesome church day.)
The 12 days of Christmas actually do BEGIN on Christmas Day... We will be doing an All Night Vigil with Artoklasia followed by the Divine Liturgy New Year's Eve... Intense services this year...
Now I am off and back to spend the rest of Sunday at church.... bible reading, eating, talking/fellowshiping and then! Singing! :) Praise God!
Aww... thank you! I just now saw your reply to me. Touching.

I came by to tell you that I just learned (from a very idealistic friend of mine in 3D life) that Christmas is not over until January 6th. So... that means we can still be saying Merry Christmas!~ Ha!

Very well then! Merry Christmas, my dear friend Arsenios! :D
Back at ya, N... For my non-believer friends, I say: "I wish you a Very, Very Merry... er... december... Ho Ho Ho!" So Merry Christmas, my Friend, and may you have a very Blessed Season of the Nativity of our Lord, God and Savior jesus Christ, now and ever, and unto the ages of the Ages, Amen...
    A.
Greetings my friend! Rather than say Merry Christmas (especially since I think the Orthodox designate another date to honor the birth of our Christ), I'd like to say may the peace, love and joy that is Christ's live in your heart, mind and soul everyday of all the years. Hallelujah!
Well, please let me know what you think... The Apostles had to preach from the OT... Hopko seems to see every element of the Faith and Worship of the NT Church as a fulfillment of the OT practices... I am a greenhorn in the OT, so I do not have much of a way to evaluate what he says... He is a brilliant speaker...
I'll check out the link you sent. The Gospel was originally preached from the Tanakh so I'd better be able to witness to it. I don't preach.
It seems to me that God's message has been being delivered to us from the very beginning through whatever means/person of His choosing.
