Why does it not speak

Here is a scripture that says that the Spirit of Truth shall
NOT Speak of himself.

1.Why NOT ?

2.If it is a God, then should it not have the Power and Authority

to choose its own words and speak ?

3.Why does it have to be verbally manipulated by someone else ?

:confused::confused::confused:

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The context is not that the Spirit would not speak.
The context is that the Spirit would not glorify itself when it speaks, but would glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

Makes one wonder about those who are constantly glorifying the Spirit and claim that the practice is instigated by the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is given to glorify the work and the person of Jesus Christ. Not religion or religious people.

God's Spirit is our connection to God. It's analogous to an internet connection only it is a spiritual connection to our spirit so God can communicate with us and through us.

Exactly. "The Spirit never draws attention to its own work--of transformation." --R. Brinsmead, ed. VERDICT, ex-Adventist pastor

I wonder if Jesus was a religious person.

There are many ways in which Jesus was not religious. The backdrop against which we see him was. I'm referring to this in the same sense as the high-profile book from the 70s about Romans, by Ridenour, which was called "How to Be a Christian Without Being Religious."

Why do you say "IT" when the verse says "HE", "HE", "HE", "HIMSELF", "HE shall hear", "shall HE SPEAK", and "HE WILL SHEW YOU"?

If Jesus was religious then why was he at odds with the champions of religion the Pharisees?

The religion of Israel was off track and Christ was sent to restore it. He didn't come to destroy God's law but to fulfill it. His teaching on adultery and murder are examples of his work.

It's not often I find myself speechless. :sherlock:

But you are aware aren't you that Mary became pregnant by the power of the Highest?

And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Highest will overshadow you, therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35 NKJV)

Mary became pregnant by the power of the Highest, not by another person.

The unique thing about God is that he can speak and it is.

what do you think His teaching was on adultery?

Adultery or any other sin takes place in the mind first.

Then, when desire has conceived it gives birth to sin, and sin when it is full-grown brings forth death. (James 1:15 NKJV)

You are aware, aren't you, that God is ONE GOD? So when you speak of the "power of the Highest" you are speaking of God. When you speak of the Holy Spirit, you are speaking of God. And when you speak of our LORD Jesus Christ, you are speaking of God. Indeed....God is UNIQUE and you can't know Him until you understand the Godhead.

oh, good

I was afraid you were one of those "He forgave the woman taken in adultery, so we should ignore everyone's perverted behavior" types
