What Gospel Do You Believe and Preach?

Most Christian preachers preach a brand of gospel that presupposes people are born apart from Christ. To become part of His Body, these preachers teach that one has to exercise faith by believing in and accepting Him as personal Savior. But Christ Himself said that apart from Him, man can do NOTHING, much less bear fruit (John 15:4, 5). This utter inability of man to do anything while apart from Christ obviously includes the spiritual acts of believing and accepting. Hence, these Christian preachers, though perhaps unaware of it, are preaching a gospel that is diametrically opposed to what Christ taught that apart from Him man can do NOTHING.

The fact that people are able to believe and accept Jesus as personal Savior simply proves that people are capable of doing SOMETHING, and therefore are already in Him prior to their believing and accepting. But how and when were people in Christ as parts of His Body?

People were made part of the Body of Christ through the gracious act of God when He implemented the plan of salvation He devised before the beginning of time (2 Tim 1:8-10), and saved Adam through Christ (Acts 4:12) that same day Adam fell into sin, and reinstated him to his pre-fall status, an act that cost God His only begotten Son, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8)! This saving act of God was manifested in the life, death, resurrection and heavenly ministry of our Saviour and Lord. With Adam in Christ, all his descendants are all born in Christ.

Being in Christ Who is our life and strength (Col 3:4; Phil 4:13), we have His power to overcome evil with good (Rom 12:21)! No wonder, the gospel of God that Christ Himself preached calls people to repentance (Mark 1:14, 15), the same call to repentance that God made in the Old Testament (Ezek 18:30), and the same call He commands now for all people everywhere (Acts 17:30). And repentance is change of mind: instead of doing evil, overcome it with good. And overcomers will not be blotted out from the book of life (Rev 3:5) but will be seated with Christ in His throne as He also overcame and sat down with His Father in His throne (Rev 3:21). Sadly, non-overcomers will be blotted out from the book of life and will have their portion in the lake of fire (Rev 15:20).

Do you believe and preach the gospel that Christ preached, the gospel He wanted preached to the world before He comes again (Matt 24:14); or, do you believe and preach another gospel (Gal 1:6-9)? Your choice...

Look how many times Jesus spoke about the Kingdom. Would you believe Jesus spoke about the Kingdom 121 times? The Gospel is the Good News that a Messiah was at hand and soon God's Kingdom would be established on earth.

The Hebrew Scriptures spoke of this Kingdom.
Isaiah 9:6-7 (King James Version)
6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 16:5 (King James Version)
5And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

Jeremiah 23:5-6 (King James Version)
5Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

I preach "The Grace Gospel." The one that "The Ascended Christ" gave to "The Apostle Paul."

The Bible teaches that we are all born into sin, Romans 5:12.

Salvation has been provided for everyone by the doing and the dying of Jesus, as a free gift from God, Hebrews 2:9.

This salvation becomes ours by simple child like faith in Christ and his Gospel, Ephesians 2:8.

Different kingdoms, The invisible kingdom Luke 17:20-21 not of this world John 18:36 is the spiritual point being made to those with ears to hear. The symbolic stories Galatians 4:24 mistaken for secular history is the veil in this school for divine off spring under the elements of experience Galatians 4:1-3.

The only gospel that has ever been relevant is Christ within you Galatians 3:29, Colossians 1:27 which transcends time and cultures, Rome historized it to keep the masses divided and looking outside them selves for liberty grace and peace, and the only those who have descended from heaven return so we all fell as a grain of wheat/corn/barley etc....to this kingdom of death Matt 8:22 till we awaken Luke 15:17 and become aware of where we came from Luke 15:32.

The Bible does not say all are born into sin. Instead, it says, all sinned. Sinning is done AFTER, not during nor before, birth. God made men upright, says the wisest man. Eccl 7:29

Scriptures tell us that God is the Savior of "all men", and obviously, "all men" includes Adam.
Therefore, God - the Savior of all men - must have saved Adam, who is a man. The question is when did God save Adam?

Did God save Adam right on the same day he fell into sin, Robert? If your answer is No, then you are saying that God just folded His hands and did nothing to save Adam that day he fell into sin but simply watched His child drown in sin? Is that how you picture our God of agape?

You, as a good father, seeing your child fall into the water, will do your best to save your child from drowning even at the peril of your own life, will you not, Robert? If you will, why would God not?

I believe God saved Adam that same day he fell into sin, an act that cost God His only begotten Son, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world! With Adam in Christ, all his descendants are born in Christ, instead of born in sin. The life, death, resurrection and heavenly ministry of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ is the manifestation of that gracious, saving act of God. 2 Tim 1:8-10.

Greetings Samie,
Do you believe and preach the gospel that Christ preached, the gospel He wanted preached to the world before He comes again (Matt 24:14); or, do you believe and preach another gospel (Gal 1:6-9)? Your choice...
I seek to follow the example of the Apostles and others associated with the Apostles, such as Philip.
Acts 8:4-6,12 (KJV): 4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. 6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Philip preached Christ to the Samaritans, and they believed, and this preaching is summarised as “the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ”. We could discuss what each of these "things" represent, but I suggest that a correct understanding of the future Kingdom of God upon the earth is an essential element of this aspect, and a correct understanding of the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus is another aspect. My next step would be to expand these two aspects by considering the various teachings of Acts 2 and 3, and Acts 3:17-21 is a summary of these. This is the gospel that I believe and preach.

Kind regards
Trevor

Hi Trevor;

It's comforting to hear you're seeking to follow those connected with the apostles, who themselves followed the Lord Who taught His disciples, man can do NOTHING apart from Him. The disciples followed, believed in, and taught what the Lord told them. And so with those who followed them. I am inclined to believe you likewise teach that people can do NOTHING apart from Christ. And if so, then you are indirectly believing that because people are able to believe, they are already in Christ PRIOR to their hearing about, and believing in, Him.

I certainly agree with John 15:4-5 but I possibly do not accept the absolute way in which you seem to take this. Yes, all spiritual things including belief and actions have their source in God and in Jesus.

I do not understand how you arrive at the other concept, as I believe that when we believe and are baptised we then become incorporated into Christ.
Galatians 3:26-29 (KJV): 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Romans 10:17 (KJV): So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Not all mankind have faith, not all are baptised, and therefore not all are in Christ, and not all are heirs to promises made to Abraham and his seed, Christ. These promises are for those who believe the gospel that the Apostles preached and who allow this faith to motivate them to be baptised into the death and resurrection of Christ. Thus the motive power to believe and be baptised and then to live the crucified / resurrected life has its source in God, because without Him we could do nothing.

Kind regards
Trevor

You don't seem to understand the concept of faith and Grace. You can't put the cart before the horse.

Hi GM;

While waiting for you to address the OP, here's my take as to who places the cart before the horse. But who's the cart and who's the horse?

Clearly, it's the horse that pulls the cart. The horse has the power to pull the cart. The cart has no power of its own to pull itself. So in God-man relationship, it's God Who has the power. Man is the powerless cart. By teaching that people must first ACCEPT and BELIEVE so they can be in Christ Who has the power is tantamount to requiring the cart to go to the horse so it can be attached to it.
