Not really.
But he did post this, and it may be a start:
Turning to the online article, we find the opener enlightening:
That's right David Bowie put GLAM ROCK on the map.
It had lain dormant in the hands of Liberace (who invented it, not just pioneered it),
and of course Elvis (who died in it) and Las Vegas (who embalmed it).
But for Bowie it was a passing fashion to dress up in like a sequinned tampon,
and dispose of like a nose-blown Kleenex.
Most who entered that frightening gender-bending come-out-ance, never survived,
but simply died their in their sins, or had to quietly retire and restart their careers
decades later when people had forgotten their foolishness.
For instance, Edgar Winter Group, and Rod Stewart ...
And we can hardly forget the Ultimate ICON of Glitter/Glam Rock -
Gary Glitter:
But have we so quickly forgotten why he was even in the
"Glitter Rock" business?
Oh yeah, thats right, it was to lure underage boys and girls,
and molest them.
Woweey Mr. Bowie.
Its a good thing he single-handedly saved the GLAM ROCK genre,
with two glittering albums.
Its hard to imagine what Glam Rock might have become,
if Bowie hadn't injected it with two more decades of artificial life.
Who knows? Maybe Gary Glitter and friends would have
been exposed and arrested decades earlier...
Could the sudden (possibly faked) "death" of Bowie
have anything to do with the recent arrest of his friend Gary Glitter?
You decide....

Here's an article from Billboard that explores a bit of his impact across musical genres. You're welcome. :e4e: |

Let's run through this. Obviously, no one is going to question how essential he was to glam rock. While The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars and Aladdin Sane ensured his long-term career and infamy, glam rock as a genre owes him just as much. If Bowie hadn't gone glam, history would remember it as a goofy, cute curiosity -- a sub-genre full of wacky fashion and frothy pop songs, but producing no serious content (apart from one or two T. Rex albums, depending on your taste). Most glam rockers are remembered as that -- glam rockers. Bowie, however, produced two albums squarely within the style while simultaneously transcending it. The aforementioned titles aren't simply glam classics -- they're rock classics. They're singer-songwriter classics. They are, simply put, works of art. |

Gary Glitter trial: Singer guilty of historical sex abuse
Gary Glitter has been found guilty of historical sex abuse against three young girls between 1975 and 1980. The 70-year-old former singer - real name Paul Gadd - was convicted of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault and one of having sex with a girl under the age of 13. Gadd, who denied all charges, was acquitted of three other counts at Southwark Crown Court, London. Police are looking at new information relating to other potential victims. Asked whether any more complainants had come forward during the course of the trial, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "Officers have received other information and it is currently being assessed." His lack of remorse and defence that the victims were lying make his crimes all the more indefensibleDet Ch Insp Mick Orchard, Scotland Yard 'Sexual predator' Gadd was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 27 February. He could face up to life imprisonment for the offence of having sex with an underage girl. The court heard one victim was under the age of 10 when Gadd, of Marylebone, central London, tried to rape her in 1975. She said the singer had crept into her bed as she slept and that afterwards she had felt "ashamed and dirty". She only managed to escape by moving away and then wrapping herself in sheets and blankets. |

Gary Glitter Acquitted On Sexual Assault (1999) by MTV News Staff 11/12/1999 Glam rocker Gary Glitter was acquitted by a British jury Friday (Nov. 12) on eight counts of sexual assault, a Bristol Crown Court representative said. The charges were filed by a former fan who alleged the “Rock and Roll Part 2″ singer (born Paul Gadd) seduced her in 1980, when she was 14, according to press reports. Following the verdict, Glitter, 59, was immediately back in court Friday afternoon on 50 counts of possession of child pornography. |
