This is what it looks like when a Republican governor sabotages supply chains in order to hurt a sitting Democratic president.

“This isn’t a regional issue, or that the city of Laredo is not getting their produce at grocery stores,” said John Esparza, president of the Texas Trucking Association. “We are seeing delays that will be felt across the country."

Commercial traffic at a key South Texas border crossing has stopped after Mexican truckers on Monday blocked north- and southbound lanes on the Mexico side of the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge in protest of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s decision to have state troopers inspect northbound commercial vehicles — historically a job done by the federal government.
The bridge connecting Pharr and Reynosa is the busiest trade crossing in the Rio Grande Valley and handles the majority of the produce that crosses into the U.S. from Mexico, including avocados, broccoli, peppers, strawberries and tomatoes. On Monday, with trucks backed up for miles in Reynosa for the fifth day in a row, some produce importers in Texas said they have waited days for their goods to arrive and already had buyers cancel orders.
At times, DPS troopers appear to be checking every commercial vehicle that crosses select international bridges, with each inspection taking between 45 minutes and an hour.
U.S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-McAllen, joined a chorus of elected officials from the border who called on Abbott to rethink his strategy, saying the DPS inspections duplicate inspections already conducted by the federal government at the ports of entry.
“Governor Abbott’s unnecessary secondary inspections are killing business on the border,” Gonzalez said in a written statement to The Texas Tribune. “If this continues it will cause further supply line issues impacting America. And we will see prices of produce and other imports rise at the grocery store. He needs to allow the U.S. Customs and Border [Protection] inspection folks to do their job.”
One of many tactics Republicans are using to blame President Biden for everything they can find or make up. They create the problem, then blame Biden. The GOP are not honest, and they don't care. Whatever it takes, they'll do.

That's what you're going with? Really?

208 days until the election 🤔

at this point you're desperate and you're just throwing everything out there to see what might stick.

Good luck with that 😁

Meanwhile, the children of mothers who might have voted Democrat last time are dying at historic rates, from the smuggled drugs Abbott's increased inspections were intended to stop

CDC: Fentanyl overdoses now leading cause of death for Americans 18 to 45

Fentanyl overdoses have killed more people aged 18 to 45 since 2020 than COVID, car accidents, and even suicides, according to the CDC.
The United States as a whole, is facing an unprecedented overdose epidemic, claiming 275 lives every day. Fentanyl overdoses are now the leading cause of injury-related death. In the year ending in April 2021, fentanyl claimed the lives of 40,010 Americans ages 18-45. That’s more than car accidents (22,442), suicide (21,678), COVID (21,335), and cancer (17,114), according to Families Against Fentanyl.

Over 100,000 deaths annually if you include methamphetamine which is also primarily sourced from Mexico and smuggled illegally across the border, in commercial trucks.

That's 100,000 dead Americans. And you have the unenviable task of explaining to their mothers their fathers their siblings their children their spouses everybody who cares about them their friends their family their coworkers - you have the unenviable task of explaining why the policies of the Democrat party aren't largely to blame.

Perhaps you can blame it on Putin

Back when I used to enjoy drinking, one of my favorites was fresh strawberry daiquiris.
I don't know why we would depend on produce of avocados, broccoli, peppers, strawberries and tomatoes from Mexico when we can grow it all right here it the USA.
And oil.
And cars.
And medicine.

This is what it looks like when selfish leftists like annabananahead care more about their avocado dip then they do about the deaths of young Americans

A UCLA study found that Fentanyl-related deaths among American teenagers aged 14 to 18 increased by 168%, from 253 in 2019 to 680 in 2020. In 2021, Fentanyl accounted for 77% of all teen overdose deaths. The study used CDC data for statistical analysis. The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published the study last week.

The researchers highlighted Fentanyl contamination of illegal drugs. Fentanyl is mixed with drugs such as heroin, Xanax, or cocaine to boost their euphoric effects. Many people overdose on the drug without even realizing they are using it.

Porous Borders

One byproduct of uncontrolled illegal immigration on the southern border is the spike in drug smuggling. The U.S. Border Patrol has reported significant increases in Fentanyl seizures. The USBP seized 4,791 pounds of Fentanyl in 2020 and 11,201 pounds in 2021, an increase of 134%.

President Biden’s neglect of the U.S. border is a big reason for the rise in lethal drugs coming into the country. Last year, Arizona reported that Fentanyl was the leading cause of teen deaths in border counties of the state, higher than auto accidents.

Biden Grades

Only one in four gives President Biden good grades for preventing Fentanyl entry into the country.

To emphasize - the bananahead's interest in this matter has nothing to do with the supply chain crisis, it has everything to do with the fact that the party of Joe the Rapist is poised to take a shellacking of epic proportions on November 8th.

And she and every other evil person on the left are willing to ignore the fact that young Americans are dying like flies because of the ineptitude of Joe the Rapist.

One of many tactics Republicans are using to blame President Biden for everything they can find or make up. They create the problem, then blame Biden. The GOP are not honest, and they don't care. Whatever it takes, they'll do.
Most Americans, like most Texans, are fed up with drug trafficking, human trafficking, invasions of illegals from dozens of countries without vetting, and more. Biden's open borders, lax security measures, and threaten to bankrupt border states with the costs of caring for illegals who are not legally allowed to work for a living in the US.

Of course the leftist democrats don't like resistance to their destructive policies but that is tough.

The slowdowns are the fallout of an initiative that Abbott says is needed to curb human trafficking and the flow of drugs. Abbott ordered the inspections as part of "unprecedented actions" he promised in response to the Biden administration winding down a public health law that has limited asylum-seekers in the name of preventing the spread of COVID-19.

In addition to the inspections, Abbott also said Texas would begin offering migrants bus rides to Washington, D.C., in a demonstration of frustration with the Biden administration and Congress. Hours before the news conference in Laredo, Abbott announced the first bus carrying 24 migrants had arrived in Washington.

During the last week of March, Border Protection officials said the border averaged more than 7,100 crossings daily.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki called Abbott's order "unnecessary and redundant." Trucks are inspected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents upon entering the country, and while Texas troopers have previously done additional inspections on some vehicles, local officials and business owners say troopers have never stopped every truck until now.

Because there are other places that can do those things for cheaper, and sometimes better.
I support commerce that makes things cheaper and more readily available to American consumers, like cars fueled by oil instead of electricity, goods manufactured by non-unionized workers, restaurants not pushed into insolvency by excessive and foolish government mandates and regulations, and so forth.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, California — Four times as much fentanyl is flowing across the United States-Mexico border under President Joe Biden compared to two years prior when former President Trump was in office.

Somebody got to Abbott and made him realize what an idiot he is: "Texas lost an estimated $477 million per day during Abbott’s enhanced border security checks, says noted and independent Texas economist Ray Perryman, president and CEO of the Perryman Group."

So that what democrats think this is all about? They don't care that drugs are flowing through open democrat borders like water down a spillway, or that cities and states are being crushed by the massively increasing burdens of caring for non-working illegals with no hope or guarantee of future employment in America, they want the money for the furniture and vegetables to keep flowing.

Their only concern is to attempt to paint Abbott in a bad light. Abbott and DeSantis are very dangerous to them in the upcoming elections. They're going to do anything they can do to try and paint them both in a bad light.
