"But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen?"
"And if Christ be not risen then is our preaching in vain, and your faith is also vain."
"Yes and we are false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead not rise".
"For if the dead rise not, then is Christ not raised".
"And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; and you are still in your sins".
"Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished".
1 Corinthians 15:13-18.
The resurrection Of Jesus Christ is the most significant event in human history. God raised Jesus from the dead because Jesus was victorious over sin, death and the devil, Colossians 2:15.
In our name and on our behalf Jesus fulfilled all of the righteous demand of God's Holy Law, Matthew 5:18. Having fulfilled the law he abolished it, Ephesians 2:15. He abolished it because it was contrary to us, no one could keep it or do it. Under the New Covenant, "The Just Shall Live By Faith" Romans 1:17.
God requires a perfect sacrifice for Mans sins,
"For he has made him to be sins for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" 2 Corinthians 5:21.
God requires two things for the salvation of fallen man.
1. A life of perfect obedience according to God's law.
2. A perfect atonement for the sins of man and the sins of the whole world.
Jesus in our name and on our behalf, has fully met all of the conditions for the salvation of fallen man. Because of the victorious work of Christ we can now stand before God's Holy Court as perfect and complete "In Jesus Christ" Colossians 2:10.
This is why Paul wrote,
"Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies. Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died and is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God making intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" Romans 8:33-35.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not something that Christians celebrate once a year at Easter. We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ every day.
