Matt 24:3 reads , The disciples came unto Him privately , saying , Tell us when shall these things be ? and what ( shall be ) the sign of thy coming , and the end of the world ?

#1 The third verb is SAYING / LEGO , which places the CONTEXT of Jesus second coming for Israel !!

#2 , When shall these things BE / ESOMAI and this verb is in the FUTURE TENSE , and in the future because , Jesus has yet to die , and be raised from the dead and has yet to appoint a new apostle , called Paul , with a NEW GOSPEL , called the MYSTERY , Eph 3:3 and the B O C is

complete , take us home as written in 1 Cor 15:51-58 and 1 Thess 4:13-18 and 2 Thess 2:1-[3 !!

#3 The Gospel of the Kingdom has YET to be preached in Matt 24:13 and 14 !!

#4 What is the sign , and verse 24:30 says what it is , that they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with Power and great glory !!

#5 Mark 13:1-10 and verse 10 says that the GOSPEL must first be PUBLISHED among all NATIONS / ETHNOS which is to be preached to only Jews !!

#6 This Second Coming , all the world will see , and NO SECRET COMING HERE at all !!

Before the Lord Jesus returns to the earth certain things must happen first, such as the setting up of the abomination of desolations in the holy place. But those who received the Hebrew epistles were taught that His appearance was imminent and could happen at any moment.

Only members of the Body of Christ were taught that His appearance can happen at moment so those who received the Hebrew epistles were members of the Body of Christ.

Hi Jerry , and I see it this way , Peter says . WE BELIEVE / PRESENT TENSE , ACTIVE VOICE and it means the subject , Jews will be Participating in the results of the action of God's GRACE / CHARIS / FAVOR !!

And Jews even in Paul's time period could be saved , VIA , 2 Cor 3:16 , and be saved individually as Jews and NOT as a nation , as Rom 11:26 says !!

Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Paul too.

The 'age' was the 490 years of Dan 9. It was coming to an end, yet they were raised in Judaism and had a terrible time realizing that that level of destruction was to take place. 'We had hoped that he was the one one who would redeem Israel.'

All comments in Mt24A (to v29) are about the destruction of the city and temple in that generation, as it says.

After that he speaks of a worldwide judgement, which was originally EXPECTED to be right after the DoJ but was also allowed to be delayed. It was, as we now know.

It is all relative to 1st century Judea. The time frame, the sabbath police, the inner rooms, or out in the desert--it is all about 1st century Judean situations.

Hi IP , and And except thoses days SHOULD BE SHORTENED / KOLOBOO and the verb BE SAVED / SOZO are in the the AOTISTB TENSE BUT :

SHALL BE SHORTENED / KOLOBOO is in the Greek FUTURE TENSE , PASSIVE VOICE and in the Indicative Mood of a FACT !!

It is obviously , that none of Matt 24 has not yet happened OR why the FUTURE TENSE ?? as verse 22 is part of the Great Tribulation !!

Unless you believe in a POST-TRIBULATION view ??
