Its funny because the cartoon's author can get stupid people to believe this is the case.

No, son, it's quite accurate. Socialists always say it's "our" wealth, collectively, that needs redistribution -- but tend to be rather tight-fisted with their own money (not much on charity giving, etc, in contrast to conservatives). Just ask your high priest, arch-socialist Bernie Sanders, which of his three homes he's going to sell off to redistribute to the poor.
Except Sanders, like every other educated person, thinks your example of wealth distribution is just naive. The sad fact is that a mass redistribution of wealth has already taken place over the last 30 years when wealth was shifted form the middle and working classes to the mega wealthy. Selling a house isn't going to make any dent in the mass of poverty our country has created any more than the vegetarian in the first panel choice to not eat meat is going to stop any animal from being killed.
