Paul wrote, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believes" Romans 10:4.
The "LAW" is any religious thing that you or I do. If Paul were to be honest with us, he would tell us that our religion is worthless, because Christ is the end of the law for righteousness. What this means is that outside of Jesus Christ there is no righteousness. Christ is our righteousnes and NOT what we are or what we have become. Our righteousness is in heaven at the right hand of God.
Many believe that God will declare them righteous because of what they believe (their religion) Many will say to me in the day, Lord, Lord, didn't we believe in Calvinism? Lord, Lord, didn't we believe in Catholicism? There is no saving faith in a religion.
What does the Gospel calls into question?
The Gospel is a declaration by God that his Son Jesus Christ has victoriously defeated sin, death and the devil and in doing so has reconciled a world of lost sinners unto himself, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19.
As far as God is concerned sin, death and the devil have been abolished and God is now at peace with the world, Colossians 1:20. This calls every doctrine and religion into question. Because of the doing and the dying of Jesus God now sees ALL THINGS in his Son Jesus Christ. Jesus is God's new Adam and our new humanity, 2 Corinthians 5:17.
When God accepted Jesus into heaven all of humanity was accepted in him. This is how God has reconciled the world unto himself, "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself" 2 Corinthians 5:19.
"Who has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the Kingdom of his Son" Colossians 1:13.
Because of what Christ has accomplished God is at peace with the world, Colossians 1:20, only because God sees the world in Jesus Christ. Jesus stands before God as our intercessor and our mediator, "For there is one God and one mediator between man and God, the man Jesus Christ" 1 Timothy 2:5. Not Calvinism. Not Catholicism. Not any religion. Only the man Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ stand before God as our righteousness and as our mediator.
What does this mean? It means that all religions are worthless. No one needs to be predestinated. No one needs to Join the Catholic church. Salvation always has been and always will be by faith, "The Just Shall Live By Faith" mainly faith in Jesus Christ.
