THE DEITY
Strolling around this majestic view, capturing its every move,
as the universe stretches out before me, as a silent glow of
shimmering twilight;
Not quite able to see the other side,
as I gaze through the moving mist of time.
Near blinding is the message this creature has taught,
thundering through the silence of its own thought.
I know somewhere far out in space
is the one I shall soon face.
THERE! THERE! She is on the other side.
Faint but visible I watch her through the mist of time;
Her beauty captures all the light the Universe can shine.
As an oasis of the infinite her mirage does appear,
for the brightness of her glow is from over here.
HERE! OVER HERE, MY LOVE!
With no response to whatever I tried;
My voice fading into everywhere, except the other side.
Ever brighter and clearer she grows as the mist seems to pass.
She turns again and looks my way.--
A beam of light like I have never seen surrounds and floods me now.
Then I knew my light has returned to me,
from the image that I see.
Hurrying to the other side, I am stopped by the sight.
They are both brighter now, growing in the twilight,
filling the Universe to over here.
They have grown to such degree we almost touch --- and then we do.
Then all I saw was two doves that flew,
far into the emptiness where they soon came to rest;
And another creature arose and stepped from their nest.
I waved and he waved, I moved and he moved.
Then we approached each other for a better view.
NO!! NO!! THIS CANNOT BE!! My head began to spin,
weakness, darkness, and brightness flooding me within.
FALLING AND FALLING, I began to see him crumple before me.
Slowly I stepped back from him that lay upon the Earth,
dazed by the thought of all that has happened to me,
AS I CONTINUE TO STROLL AROUND THE UNIVERSE OF MY MIND.
