Only the people who vote for Obama bear that responsibility!

But you don't extend those same limits of responsibility to the mother and the abortionist in the case of abortion. :think:

In the case of the election, I believe the stance taken by Bob and others is that if you don't actively promote the evil action (ie voting for Obama), you don't bear any responsibility for his coming to power. This would leave blameless all those whose actions (or inactions) contributed to the onset of an Obama administration.

In the case of the abortion issue, the analogous stance would be that if you don't actively promote the evil action (ie aborting a child), you don't bear any responsibility for the murder of innocents. This would leave blameless all those who don't actually have a hand in the physical act, unless they're are actually calling for abortions to be performed. This, I believe, is the heart of the morality of the pro-choice argument - that the choice (and the guilt) falls directly (and solely) on the shoulders of those making the decision.
