I used the old powdered Slimfast for three months in college...(two decades ago.) It had a funny metallic aftertaste, but it worked pretty well. I dropped 25 pounds which was what I was aiming for.

Geez...just thinking about it I can still remember that aftertaste. Yuck.

At least it wasn't flammable, that would have been my first guess. Or at least give off toxic fumes when burned.
