That is true, brother, but the real point with utopians is that sooner or later, given the chance, they know they always have to force their vision upon the benighted masses who do not share their wisdom, and dispose of all who refuse to see the light. History proves this time and again. So the bottom line is that they can't allow The Others to be armed, thus able to meet force with force when that time comes.
They've been promised a rainbow-farting unicorn for over 100 years and they'll have their unicorn one way or the other. Even if they have to kill multitudes to get it. They've tried before, and failed, but it's always "Next time we'll get it right."
