Pope Francis on Climate Cange: Man is Stupid!

For those who have denied climate change, or delayed actions to counter it, he responded with an Old Testament saying: “Man is stupid.”

Guess it's "Follow the leaders" instead of "Follow the Lord". :chuckle:

“These aren’t opinions pulled out of thin air. They are very clear,” he said. “Then they (leaders) decide and history will judge those decisions.”

Shouldn't the pope be worried about being judged because he uses forms of transportation which generate CO2?:

"The Pope normally travels with his entourage (no other passengers) in an Alitalia A320. This aircraft emits 9 kg of C02 for every km of flight. In one year the Pope travels ~ 100,000 km. So in one year, by himself, the Pope emits about one million kg of C02. More C02 than many cities in Africa."

Two things.
1) the Pope is not an authority on environmental analysis, economics, etc. And yet, his opinion is more valued than that of a TOL user, who is also not educated in environmental analysis, economics, etc.
2) Your statistics about cities in Africa is, no offense, laughable. Africa is a 3rd world continent, on good days. Of course they do not have high CO2 emissions, because most of Africa lacks basic plumbing, let alone factories, industry, etc.

Compare the Pope to the president of the U.S. Obama traveled a minimum of 188,000 miles each year, using modes of transportation that emitted over 10 kg of CO2 (each mode was over 10, hence my use of "over 10"). The Secretary of State for the U.S. Sports over 1 million miles (for Obama, Kerry travelled 1.6 million, Clinton 957,000).

If you are going to use economical and environmental statistics, at least be minimally intellectually honest. Using equivalences such as Africa is just poor in conduct.

Isa 37:16 O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

Complete with a white throne between two cherubims..

Looks like someone straight out of the book of Daniel..

It's not the first time this pope's been caught with his proverbial pants down wrt hypocrisy. Remember how he said something about building a border wall wasn't Christian, from the Vatican, which has a border wall all the way around it?

"Practice what you preach" needs to be the motto of the pope and all those like him. In the same way he has a "wall" but preaches we shouldn't have one. I'm so tired of hypocrites.

If a leader or government tells those under him to disobey God, do you "Obey your leader and submit? Or do you "Obey God rather than men"?

Did the Hebrew midwives obey pharaoh when he told them to kill the Hebrew male children but not the female? How did God reward them?

So now climate scientists are disobeying God? And the Pope is disobeying God when he says we should listen to the experts in their respective field?

That isn't talking about scientists, is it?

I hate it when people adulterate the word of God. :sigh:
