It is somewhat important. It allows us to know God as personal, dynamic, responsive vs static and impersonal. It means prayer really changes things and our choices do have impact and make a difference. A wrong view of time leads to determinism, undermining love, relationship, responsibility, etc.
We should worship God in spirit and truth, not based on pagan philosophical influences. Thinking men may reject our God if we misrepresent His nature and ways. They will not believe in a deterministic God, knowing this makes Him responsible for heinous evil.
This subject is somewhat speculative, but it is more than academic. It is theology, the queen of sciences, the study of the Living God. Let us do theology with excellence and truth.
