Freak, I agree with what you say, but you are implying that our salvation is in our hands:

Why'd you put the "but" there? Of course we fail; we fail everyday! Just because we're saved dosn't mean that we are automatically perfect. The difference between a Christian and a non-Christian is not that we don't sin anymore, it's that we desire to not sin anymore. If God saved us then expected us to keep that salvation by remaining sinless, then I would expect no one to reach Heaven. The fact is that God is the one who keeps our salvation.

1 Peter 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

If He is the one in charge of our salvation, would He just toss it aside because of our sins? Is not sin the very thing He saved us from in the first place? That would be a contridiction.

I don't believe one can stray from the faith because of sin. That places our eternal security in our hands, and it will never last. This, in turn, would mean that Christianity is just another religion like every other in the world; for all other religions in the world also teach that man is to obtain his own way to salvation. Christianity teaches that God has obtained salvation for us through His eternal love and grace. That's what makes this faith so blessed and amazing...
