Personality disorders are not the only form of mental disorder that people can suffer from, but the good news is that people don't necessarily have to be told by a mental health professional that they have a personality disorder in order to find out that they have one. Who defines "liberal" or "conservative" and by what measure? Most of the bat crazy I've seen has come from the far right although I'd hardly class that as "conservative" at all. There's sure some bat crazy stuff with the far left too although that can hardly be classed as "liberal" either. Most folk aren't of one extreme or another and pretty silly to make a political difference into a mental health issue.

This is not exactly news. I remember being taught this in my Psychology 101 class, back in 1987. Conservatives tend to be people of faith, and people of faith who attend church regularly tend to be healthier both mentally and physically. People of faith also tend to have intact families.

Stable upbringing and good church community values count for something, after all.
