I thought this made sense, until I realized they were charging the kid as an adult. Thus, they are saying both that he’s responsible for what he did and he’s not responsible for what he did.
If he’s an adult, then he has the right to own a gun, right? And that he understands the weight of his decisions and actions? Seems like the prosecution shot themselves in the foot on it, pun only slightly intended.
