Obama for Death Panels, Against Meal Deals

This is the show from Monday July 11th, 2011.

SUMMARY:

* The Law of Unintended Consequences Spreads Disease and Death: When a government socializes health care:
- it steals from some to give to others (violating God's enduring command, Thou shall not steal)
- it becomes a nanny state wagging it's finger at you for eating even foods that are good for you like fats
- it commissions death panels that decide who should live and who should die, like for 22 year-old Rudi Hargreaves who has lost nearly half her weight in a year and is being denied a life-saving $22,000 operation.

* Bad China Slows Down Global Warming: Really. Or at least, that's who they're blaming for the lack of global warming over the last ten years. So China's probably to blame for Montana canceling a 100-mile super marathon through the Flathead National Forest because there is still so much frozen di-hydrogen monoxide strewn about recklessly on the ground, that a number of trail signs to point runners in the right direction are still buried... in show.

* The Global Recklessness of Fornication
: A new superbug strain of gonorrhea, currently incurable, has appeared in Japan and is threatening a global health epidemic. There is no such thing as a victimless crime.

* How Mathematicians Make Discoveries Without Microscopes
: Bob gives an update about last week's RSF and RMCF guest James Nickel, author of Mathematics: Is God Silent? Nickel talked about Albert Einstein and how the personal creator God is the answer to the question that Einstein wrestled to answer. Nickel demonstrated how mathematicians turn away from the physical world and make astounding discoveries that help to explain the physical world. They use only their minds, and these discoveries come decades and even centuries before their real-world counterparts make the discovery by observational science. This was Einstein's unanswerable dilemma, answered by the fact that the universe was designed in the mind of God. And because we are made in God's image, we can, as Kepler is paraphrased, think God's thoughts after Him.

Guess Bob reads a different Bible from the rest of us.

Romans 13:6-7

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Also, obesity costs everyone money.

- it commissions death panels that decide who should live and who should die, like for 22 year-old Rudi Hargreaves who has lost nearly half her weight in a year and is being denied a life-saving $22,000 operation.
It's experimental. Do you think Private insurance companies pay for experimental treatments? Guess what, they don't either. We already have death panels, they're called your insurance company.

Hmm, sounds so Islamist. sounds like you would love Sharia law were it "Christian".

And since the whole American economic system is based on marketing (and coveting), it does not seem as though your tax $ are going were you would want them to go, Nicky.

Looking to the government for needs has had terrible consequences. The government isn't God. Government will always be unfair and corrupting. People should look to God and the church if they have a need.

Fornication isn't victimless. The diseases from it are only getting worse.

As will the free market. Your point is what exactly?

People should look to God and the church if they have a need.
How many churches can afford hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical bills annually?

I agree here but you say this and then say that government is always corrupting. Do you want government to make laws against fornication, homosexuality and adultery or not?

someone needs to explain that to me. government is always corrupt but the free market, based on $, is not? Suggest you ask Rupert Murdoch or Bernie Madoff. Or is it OK for the free market to effectively be a death panel 'cause somehow it is free as desired by god?

Sounds like you don't know Islam or sharia law. It is socialism. Oh, I see. You didn't know that. My bad.

Wow, you've sunk to a new level of stupid. That's quite an achievement for you. You apparently think everything you dislike strongly is socialism. Not that you know what socialism is either. I'd love to hear your loopy explanation of your statement.

so when the gov't does it, its not stealing???
Did you read the verse I posted?

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Whoever said People don't think was right on.
Yep and they don't read either. You are a case in point. The Bible says you owe them, if you owe something to someone it's not stealing now is it?

But in our system, we have a voice in where those taxes go, right?

You do, but it's a collective action so it's likely everyone will have taxes that go to at least some things they disagree with. Do you think the people in Paul's day had ANY say about where their taxes went?

I think the Roman tax system existed to make the rulers wealthy and safe.

Much like today.

Alate - why don't you quit being such a chicken, write up a few talking points, contact Pastor Enyart and arrange a discussion?

Or I guess you could keep a telling us all how wrong he is. :chuckle:

He is just as dishonest as you are in a discussion and on the radio he has the control to talk over anyone and anything he doesn't agree with. I've already had plenty of forum discussions with him. And even when he's soundly beaten, he'll claim victory and all of his followers believe him.

Oh .. so you don't like presenting your case against the odds, huh?

It's not odds (I already know there's a 100% chance of not convincing Bob of any science or political ideas he currently rejects).

It's more like this . . . . "do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."

I couldn't agree more. Calling into that program is a complete waste of time.
