...I really didn't have an easy time of it. I think the very first day I got into a run in with MaryContrary and couldn't reply to a complex post from TH :chuckle:
TOL wasn't the easiest place, especially for a newbie. Learning how things worked, who to be relaxed around and who to avoid, having your posts taken apart and being made to feel like a fool, taking the insults, growing a thicker skin, understanding the rep system and post reporting.... over time I saw that only certain types of people last any length of time here on TOL and some newbies crash and burn very quickly.
My point being that TOL wasn't going to change for me...I had to learn to adapt to TOL. I am the one who made changes and grew and matured.... I had to do the hard yards to gain the rewards.
I don't see why it has to be any different for anyone else.
