Merely Christian

Now comes the question: What standard do we use to determine who can or can't do what with their inclinations?
If one is a Christian, the standard should be biblical.
That's why I tend to get POed at Christians more easily than I do with agnostics and atheists or non-Christians. Those who do not follow Christ aren't going to do what God expects of them--they don't even believe that He exists. They are going to use whatever standards seem best to them.
But when one who calls himself a Christian defends practices that are obviously contrary to what God has called us to, then we are dealing with a horse of another color. God did not want His church defamed and besmirched through vile practices--be it theft, untruthfulness, or immorality. That is why He instructed Christians, through Paul, to not associate with one who calls himself a Christian yet follows his basest desires and puts the fulfillment of those desires above the standards that God has decreed.
