Have you read "The Wedge Strategy", published by the folks at the "Center for Renewal of Science and Culture"?

I'll quote:

Discovery Institute's Center for the Renewal of Science and Culture seeks nothing less than the overthrow of materialism and its cultural legacies....Design theory promises to reverse the stifling dominance of the materialist worldview, and to replace it with a science consonant with Christian and theistic convictions.

The proponents of ID want to, essentially, force their Christian and theistic convictions down everybody's throats in the guise of "science."

Your side has flat out stated that they are engaging in an attempt to overthrow non-Christian or non-theistic thinking (materialism).

Unease and resistance from the scientific establishment is not paranoia.

Given the choice between "materialism" (atheism) and theism with regard to origins society would at this point in time choose theism.

However, simply presenting the scientific difficulties with the 'molecules to man" theory is not forcing Christian convictions down everybody's throat, whereas suppressing all dissent regarding origins in the name of science is forcing atheistic views down student's throats in the name of "science" (falsely named).

By the way evolution is equated with science one would think that all modern technology demands a belief in "molecules to man". Wrong.
