Researchers at EcoHealth, who received U.S. funds, failed to report the findings right away as required by the terms of the grant, NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence A. Tabak told Rep. James Comer, a top Republican on the House Oversight Committee, this week.
The NIH said the result wasn’t something researchers set out to do, but Mr. Paul said it proves NIH has been downplaying and obfuscating the nature of U.S.-funded research at the lab as GOP lawmakers point to a potential lab leak as the source of the pandemic.

I do not have any accounting of what the Chinese may have done, and I'm fully in favor of any further investigation of what went on in China. However, I will repeat again, the NIH and NIAID categorically has not funded gain-of-function research to be conducted in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
If Fauci did not know the Chinese were taking the American money he was funneling to them and using it to develop the coronavirus, then he is stupid and incompetent and should be fired. He should be fired for funneling money to Wuhan after Obama told him to stop it. He should be fired for claiming he did not know why Trump put a stop to American money going to Wuhan after the coronavirus broke out.
