This President's tweets make it abundantly clear that not only did he want FBI Assistant Director removed from office, but he also expected his Attorney General to have McCabe and anyone else Trump's perceives as "political enemy" charged!

If Attorney General Sessions had not "fired" Andrew McCabe at 10 pm on a Friday night, 26 hours before he was set to retire and receive his pension, Trump could have replaced with him, the same way he dealt with the Secretary of State, earlier this week!

The McCabe "firing" illustrates how the independence of the Department of Justice is being gradually subverted - its first priority is no longer upholding the Constitution but satisfying the demands of an authoritarian President - the first step leading to a dictatorship!

It is reported the firing took place 2 days before his pension would kick in.
Many folks are wondering why it even took that long to fire him.

Not even. It was 26 hours. He was fired after 22:00 on a Friday night, during an interview where a 4-star general was talking about how he had reached the conclusion that Trump was doing Putin's bidding, which was then immediately cut short.

Many folks are wondering why it even took that long to fire him.

Some may be wondering that, but usually it would have taken a lot longer for his appeal to be heard. The IG report was only filed last week, if I recall correctly, and McCabe was barely given any time to file his appeal. What actually appears to have happened is that they rushed it through so that they could still fire him, and frankly, whatever else you think of him in the political moment, for a guy who worked for 20+ years in service of the nation in law enforcement, mostly in obscurity, it's a pretty horrible thing to do to him. The IG report alleges "lack of candor", and McCabe denies this still, but it isn't public, so we can't really make a very informed judgement.

It may well be that the OIG did, in fact, find a legitimate breach of policy that became the basis for this action. The OIG is designed to be independent, and it should have been difficult to politicize an investigation by that department. What is clear though is that Trump has been consistently attacking him for partisan political reasons, and Sessions is clearly keen to please his boss.

I believe, not only he should have been fired a while back, but, those two FBI 'lovers' should have been cast out, as well.
McCabe was accused of not being "sufficiently forthcoming" - the irony is that he was terminated by an Attorney General who had to recuse himself from the Russian investigation because he wasn't "sufficiently forthcoming" concerning his contacts with Russians during the Senate Confirmation Hearings!

Since we have not seen Trmpy's tax returns, Donny John has not been sufficiently forthcoming either.

Yep, and according to the IG's report, McCabe should be facing charges, too. Lying under oath is a crime.

After all, Mike Flynn was charged for doing the exact same thing (minus the leaking). There is no doubt McCabe lied under oath, but many in the FBI didn't even think Flynn did that.

No, "lack of candor" is lying, and FBI agents are fired all the time for that. What makes it even worse for McCabe is that he lied under oath. Not only that, but he had a subordinate leak to the media. The IG recommended McCabe be fired. Don't try to blame this on Sessions. The FBI's own oversight took care of McCabe. And...there's more to come.

I find it rather ODD that Libs, such as yourself, desire to not only see Trump's Tax returns, you also desire to see some 'supposed' pictures of Trump in compromising 8 x 10 glossies? Do you guys have another problem that you don't want to be exposed? Know what I mean? I'm referring to Adam Schiff's desire to receive those kinds of pictures.

Even McCabe's charges have to do with the Clinton Foundation.....they're closing in. ;)

True. McCabe's Wife was running for an office (As a Democrat) and she received about $700,000.00 from a person that was very close to the Clinton's. Hillary's E-Mails were being looked into at that time, by the FBI, which McCabe was part of. McCabe didn't feel it was necessary to disclose this fact, after all, that may have been considered a 'Conflict of Interest.'

Announcements made at 10:00 pm on a Friday night, 26 hours before the individual in question has already and is set to retire is not conducting business as usual!

The Attorney General and President "David Dennison," or whatever alias he chases to operate under, are holding McCabe to a far higher standard than they are willing to apply to themselves!

I suspect that if they could charge him with false statements, they would have. That's why I think it makes sense to be careful how we interpret "lack of candor".

No, the timing was the IG's. I know you don't like it, but that's the way it is. Why should the American people pay that man's retirement when he lied under oath and was obviously politically motivated....what he did is against everything the FBI stands for.

Not one of those tears are for Mike Flynn, are they? He had to pay a fortune in legal fees for something of much lesser degree.
