It is sad and dangerous when government leaders around the world get caught up in mass delusions sparked by overblown panicked reactions to known dangers to civilization and end up doing more damage to societies than would ever be done by the threats driving the unreasonable panics and policies.
The ignorant and unlearned, as well as the deluded, do not believe God will keep His promise to maintain the environment until the end of time.

Overreaching government control of populations is only working in places like China and North Korea where protesters against government control are executed without due process. It will not work well in places like England or Australia where the people are still stronger than the oligarchy seeking to control them. In America, private ownership of guns is a big problem facing leftist fascists because as long as patriotic Americans have powerful guns for protection the government cannot take away their rights without a fight.
