Left is spluttering as conservatives pull their kids out of public schools

The shift to home schooling and alternatives like church schools by conservatives is angering the left. They are now accusing conservatives of trying to destroy public education. Sorry you marxists. You're the ones who turned public education on it's ear and have been working overtime to deny conservatives a voice. Your totalitarianism turned everyone else cold so they are leaving. And now you're complaining about those leaving because you ran them out. You're just getting what you set up in the first place.

I was out front on this curve by almost 40 years. I paid for my stepkids to go to a parochial school system rather than subject them to public schools and be indoctrinated into evolution and bunch of other evils.

I taught in good public schools and I taught in very very bad public schools. In my experience, in the very very bad public schools the parents didn't care.

Quick story - I taught in three schools - one was a suburban district that scored in the top 95th percentile in the state, one was a rural School district that scored in the 50th percentile, and one was an urban district that always scored dead last.

Parents night in the suburban district was SRO - every seat in every classroom filled, usually with Mom, with Dads standing at the back of the room.

Parents night in the rural district was thinly attended. The parents we saw were parents of the children who were doing well.

Parents night in the urban district was a ghost town.

Are you implying that the only thing wrong with our public schools now are the parents?

There are many things wrong with our public schools now. But it all starts with parental involvement. Involvement with their children's upbringing, involvement with their school district's administration and hiring practices, involvement with the development of curricula. Many parents, busy with parenting, forget that teachers, especially new young teachers, bring unwanted ideas with them from college.

The shift to home schooling and alternatives like church schools

The shift? Where have you been?

Catholic parochial schools in America were a response to 19th. century anti-Catholic Protestants. We were way out in front of you on that curve.

Otherwise, conservatives have been pulling their kids out of the public school system for 50-60 years now.

This is not news. It's just your flavor of the day.

So, you agree that parents who oppose crt, marxist indoctrination, mask mandates, and child vaccination are terrorists?

Well, I'll give you more ammo for mocking me.

I now type at about 2 or 3 words a minute at best. I had a stroke a couple of months ago that affects my left hand and make so many typos I can't keep track of all of them. So. go ahead and chortle and say you don't believe me. I've only made about 50 typos in this paragraph. Laugh and mock to your heart's content. I've given you the ultimate weapon against me. Let's see how much use you can make of it

I'm sorry to hear you've had a stroke, and wish for you the best recovery possible.

That doesn't change my opinion of the false narratives you put up here on a regular basis which I'll challenge as long as we're both here.

You've long abused the apostrophe such that it's clear it's not a typo, and as for mocking... if you'd never mocked me you might be able to claim the higher ground. As it stands, based on your past mockery and lies about me, you have no higher moral ground to claim.

@annabenedetti

I wonder why it is that you latched on to that particular typo rather than the skipping of entire words in my posts? I know why so you needn't explain your reasoning.

Because it's not a typo. It's a clear misunderstanding of the possessive, and the only reason I point it out is your mocking of the English students you tutored.

You repeat lies ad nauseum and ignore all evidence to the contrary. That fits the definition of lying. It's dishonesty.

Now that's funny, I volunteered to help them. They were learning English on their own. That you think I mocked them is flat out stupid. If all I wanted was to mock them for their deficiencies all I had to do was stand aside and mock. I would have had no interest in volunteering to help them.

That's good, but you may want to check to see what they're teaching the kids (not necessarily yours) these days.

No, just to come here and gossip about them and promote yourself.

As usual your assumptions are dead wrong. I knew just as much about their grades as the formal teacher of that class.

I helped teach the class. I knew how bad their English skills were. I helped them every day for 3 months. I saw their work and helped them as much as I could other than writing their papers for that I would not do. I saw their scores because they handed me their papers to look at and help them understand their mistakes. And I know how many of them were passed on and not made to retake the class. The entire school system there failed those kids. From kindergarten on they had been passed from grade to grade for they were in the same age range as their peers.

These kids were so far behind in their skills that a 3 month class couldn't even begin to help them catch up.

Edit: The community college didn't even place them in a bonehead English class. The class I'm speaking of was a creating writing class. Think about a college, of any type, putting a person who didn't know the difference between a noun and verb, adjective or adverb, or even simple punctuation in a writing class. How were those kids supposed to pass a creative writing class when they knew nothing about the language?

Ad nauseam

Backatcha. I've lost track of how much fake information you've posted here. And the way you lie about people.
Yeah. Right. You won't even investigate what I post. I can post study after study and you ignore them all. Say they mean nothing or refuse to comment as you would have to contradict yourself by actually learning something. How about my thread on the NIH saying Fauci did fund gain-of-function research at Wuhan. Was the head of the NIH lying? Or is he a conspiracy theorist? Or did Breitbart make it all up?

So explain your position on it.
