Yes, the death penalty is not a essential doctrine of the Christian faith, in that salvation is not hinged upon if one believes the government has a right to put people to death. Many believers disagree on this issue. However, I NOW believe the death penalty has a divine purpose for those living under the New Covenant.

Why can't we edit posts anymore? I wanted to ask what all the accolades for Freak are about? He should have figured out the death penalty issue long ago. Now we'll see if he's big enough to apologize for bearing false witness against someone, namely me.

Say what y'all want about Freak, but he hasn't done anything to change my opinion of him yet. I'd say the only reason he can be commended for changing his mind about the death penalty is admitting how stupid he was about it before.

I only meant that you can't edit your posts in this particular forum, POTD. Only the Mods can start threads in here, and only they can edit posts. I do think that should be changed, though.

I'm just glad Freak did change his mind. I'm glad I changed my mind. Of course, I changed it years ago.:eek:

I'm glad he did, too. I just don't understand lavishing him with praise for it.
