Perfectly stated!!!
:first:I think one of the reasons people have difficulty with the idea of OSAS is they don’t understand why God would allow people who do evil things to live forever with Him in heaven.
But what we tend to fail to understand is that God has been teaching humanity a vital lesson ever since the fall and that lesson reaches its ultimate understanding in the grace of OSAS.
Before the fall of man there was one rule—don’t eat from the tree—man broke the rule.
After the fall there were ten rules—man broke all ten.
Eventually there were over six hundred—all were shattered time and time again.
Through all of this God has been trying to teach us the truth behind The Body of Christ which is if we try to obey rules for the sake of obeying rules we will never be able to live sin free for all eternity. The truth of the Body is that there are no rules but the rule of love.
If we love our neighbor, we won’t steal his property from him. We won’t murder him. We won’t falsely accuse him. We won’t seduce his wife.
All through history God has tried to teach us the only way to obey the law of love is to forget rules and just love. Really love. Because true love will not hurt what is good and right and just and holy.
Only by removing all punishment for breaking rules can God demonstrate the one true way to keep the law of love.
