A federal appeals court on Wednesday ruled that President Trump cannot block enforcement of a New York grand jury subpoena for eight years of his tax returns.
The ruling, from a three-judge panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, affirms a federal judge's decision in August that rejected Trump's claims that the subpoena from Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. was overly broad and issued in bad faith.
The parties have agreed to temporarily halt enforcement of the subpoena.
The Manhattan District Attorney's Office last year subpoenaed Trump's accounting firm, Mazars USA, for the president's personal and business tax returns and other financial records.

The problem, of course is that, since Trump is a "Corporate entity", the tax returns won't mean much to folks not already well versed in "Corporate tax law". The IRS didn't apparently find anything wrong with them, so what's the issue. This, or that "talking media head" says he "took advantage of loopholes" that he shouldn't have. The IRS apparently doesn't agree, and THEY ALREADY HAVE his tax records, and have had them for YEARS. I doesn't take 'em long to correct MY tax returns (which they've done several times). Any Businessman who DOESN'T TAKE ADVANTAGE of all the law allows is a FOOL.

The story that's on the net is that he committed fraud by misrepresenting the value of properties to taxing authorities and banks. We'll see how that checks out. Given Trump's frantic attempts to keep the court from seeing that evidence, suggests that it's true.

He's been a disaster. The problem with hiring a skillful grifter is, they really don't know how to do anything but con people. So when the coronavirus hit, Trump's best idea was to "downplay" the danger. He sees everything as a P.R. problem. He was unable to actually do anything effective to stop the pandemic.

It's just completely outside of his thinking to do anything but spin.

Trump knows if we can see his tax records then we can also find out how Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden and other Democrats became multimillionaires on salaries less than 200 K. Trump is betting that it's not because they are all expert stock market investors.

Since Biden just turned over all his tax returns without anyone asking, that seems rather doubtful. On the other hand, even a cursory look at Trump's taxes have already turned up evidence that he was telling the government one story and the banks another. Cyrus Vance is cross-checking all of it. That will have to wait until January, of course.
