The bill will “require any person who operates a social media, as defined, Internet Web site with a physical presence in California to develop a strategic plan to verify news stories shared on its Web site. The goal of Senate Bill 1424 is “to mitigate the spread of false information through news stories, the utilization of fact-checkers to verify news stories, providing outreach to social media users, and placing a warning on a news story containing false information.”

(c) As used in this section, “social media” means an electronic service or account, or electronic content, including, but not limited to, videos, still photographs, blogs, video blogs, podcasts, instant and text messages, email, online services or accounts, or Internet Web site profiles or locations.

This will be extended to cover websites, originating from California, with message boards or comment sections, if it doesn't already.

California is once again leading the way, into madness that is. Here we see the Democrats/marxists there putting forth what can only be called "state controlled media". This bill will pass as Democrats/marxists there are firmly in charge with supermajorities so we see the end of free speech in one state of the US. Anything that does not meet their approval, meaning all conservative and libertarian thought, will be shut down. Don't be too surprised at this as the conservatives in California are awakening and there is a strong movement there to split California into two states. One is conservative that takes in most of the geography of California and then the marxist wastelands from San Francisco to San Diego along the coast. That plus the movement to sue the state over its sanctuary stupidity. These are grassroots movements and the marxist run state wants to shut down the mediums of communication as much as they can. They absolutely rely on the wealth conservatives produce to wage political war against them so they will go to extreme lengths to hold onto power.

If people don't believe marxism is totalitarianism all they have to do is look at this example of marxist behavior to see totalitarianism revealing itself more and more every day. There's a reason I harp on marxism so much. It is that ideology that desires to destroy liberty and the California marxists have clearly revealed their hand with this bill they have introduced.
