ECT How should a Christian deal with sin?

A Christian should deal with sin with the understanding that it’s already defeated. Jesus already killed it and God no longer remembers it or brings it back up to us. A Christian should deal with his sin in that he should acknowledge it is sin but not mope around because of it. Rather, he should understand that he is a favored son of God and that sinning will never change that nor alter anything having to do with that because sin is defeated. He should realize that he is a conqueror in Christ and that he is better than that sin and doesn’t have to be entrapped by it because Jesus has taken him out of that, allowing him to choose freedom rather than slavery to sin.
This also I believe is how a church needs to preach getting over sin. If a church comes from this perspective, they could talk about sin often because it doesn’t focus on the sin, it focuses on the Savior and that is the only way to get over sin: by focusing on Jesus, not striving hard to defeat a sin that Jesus already destroyed. I think that a church needs to be way more Savior-focused than it is sin-conscious and should never bring condemnation upon a son of God because they have fallen into a sin. Instead, they need to let them know that focusing on Jesus’ love for them and what he has done is the only way to let the Holy Spirit bring about sanctification in their life and get rid of that sin. The church has a responsibility to let its people know and reassure them that sin is dead and cannot affect how God loves them or looks upon them, because they are the righteousness of God in Christ. Jesus is not in the business of sin management, he is in the business of heart transformation.

I agree that heart transformation by the love, power and presence the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is the only way to sanctification. And judgemental Pharisee type attitudes do not help lead people to Christ. But we are called to speak the truth in love and lovingly say to our neighbors that if you decide to follow Christ you are called to turn away from the sinful nature/the flesh/sin and sow to please the Spirit and walk in the newness of His life in us and that He gives us the power to defeat sin, from Glory to Glory in Him. If sin is not preached to be the problem that it is, it won't be overcome. It can very easily be accepted in the life of believer who wants to honor God, but does not understand the way, the truth and the life that are in Christ.

Sin has two powers: debt and stain.

Justification through Christ deals with the debt. His righteousness is credited to us for that.

In honor of Him, we have a new spirit and life. At best, it is not interested in sinning any more, but it is not the only spirit in their; there is war.

A lot. He is advocating sinning willfully.

Heb 10:26-27
26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Most churches are not sin-conscious, so they are in your favor.

But you need to know that Jesus was sent to give us power to overcome our wrongdoing or sins.

Your comments are paramount of most churches. that's why Christianity is so powerless witness to the world.

blessings.

YOU need to become a Child of God before you can overcome sin
in your life. You have rejected Paul's Gospel therefore, you're
headed for judgement and the Lake of Fire if you don't become
a "true" Child of God.

Hebrews was written to the Hebrew believers. It wasn't written
to the Body of Christ.

How should a Christian deal with sin?
Sin was already dealt with 2000 years ago:

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.|

In light of the good news (1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 KJV) a saved person should reckon himself dead indeed unto sin!

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Romans 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Romans 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Romans 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
