The 26-year-old was working as an armed security guard Sunday when he tried to intervene during a shooting outside a Chicago-area bar. Officers arrived, and — officials later said — saw a man with a gun. A Midlothian police officer opened fire after ordering the man to drop the weapon.

That man was Roberson. He was trying to subdue one of the suspects, investigators later said, when the officer shot him. Roberson later died at a hospital.

Am I happy an innocent man is dead? No....but from what I heard, he was told to drop a weapon, he didn't.

1. Tell me more about how you are a libertarian and you don't believe that the State has rightful authority.

2. Further tell me more about how much you believe in 2nd amendment rights.

3. That's what the police are claiming. That's been contradicted by the testimony of other eyewitnesses at the scene.

drbrumley: Fascism is bad! The state shouldn't be able to tell us what to do!

Also drbrumley: He should have just followed the orders of the State sanctioned people with badges and guns, and he should have been quick about it, too.

I'm also a christian. I would be happy to discuss my views with you anytime provided it's a civil discussion.

What about the 2nd amendment?

I haven't seen all the reports coming out yet, so I am not making any judgements on it as of now.

Aside from the obvious point that Christianity and libertarianism are diametrically opposed to each other (libertarianism is idolatry):

If you want to live in a religious theocracy, move to Saudi Arabia. We live in a secular society.

Keep your "religious" beliefs to yourself.

I would be happy to discuss my views with you anytime provided it's a civil discussion.

No civil discussion can be had with dishonest actors and idealogues.

What about the 2nd amendment?

The people have an inalienable right to bear arms. That's what the constitution says. If the people have a right to bear arms, then "but he was holding a gun" isn't an excuse for the police to open fire. Period.

I haven't seen all the reports coming out yet, so I am not making any judgements on it as of now.

"Before [Roberson] could get up off of him, the officer comes flying out this door gun up," Woods said Tuesday afternoon while standing on her porch. "He says, 'Get on the ground,' and before he says 'ground,' he fires the first shot."

"Everybody is screaming and hollering," she said. "Even the officers were screaming and hollering, 'He's one of us. He's one of us. He's a security guard. He works here.' "

Witness Adam Harris told WGN-TV he saw the same thing. "Everybody is screaming out, 'He's a security guard,' " Harris said.

Socialists and fascists are kissing cousins.

The state shouldn't be able to tell us what to do!

Who is the state, and who put them in charge?

Also drbrumley: He should have just followed the orders of the State sanctioned people with badges and guns, and he should have been quick about it, too.

Not at all. On both points!

If you want to live in a religious theocracy, move to Saudi Arabia. We live in a secular society.

Keep your "religious" beliefs to yourself.

I only testify of him who I have seen. If that bothers you, TOUGH!!!!

No civil discussion can be had with dishonest actors and ideologues.

Which is what I thought, how leftist of you.

I dont disagree with that. But you left out the part about him to put the weapon down...
